It would have been different if they gave them warning. This is totally unacceptable behavior for any studio, to just drop about 100 people, without any warning.

Just go to www.crymod.com and look for custom maps. But yes, it has gone too far, and some people need to grow up. ;)

If you read the links, Lucas Arts did discuss outsourcing, so it's not just an assumption.

I have played it for several hours (bought the beta before I sold my PS3), and it's nothing special. There's a host of games that have much better online.

So it seems after their big project was about wrapped up, Lucas Arts let about 75-100 people go with no warning whatsoever. One day you're working at a place, and the next day, your job has been stopped to be sent overseas, while leaving you out in the parking lot to get your stuff together to leave. Sorta makes me not want to buy Forced Unleashed. :\ http://kotaku.com/5013987/lucasarts-confirms-layoffs-says-the-dev-is-still-healthyhttp://kotaku.com/5013710/rumor-lucasarts-sees-massive-layoffs-outsources-jobs-%5Bupdated%5Dhttp://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3168454 http://kotaku.com/5013987/lucasarts-confirms-layoffs-says-the-dev-is-still-healthy http://kotaku.com/5013710/rumor-lucasarts-sees-massive-layoffs-outsources-jobs-%5Bupdated%5D http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3168454

So I'll post what I think, and you feel free to do the same. I am pretty much neutral on consoles, as I have owned all of them, and also play games on my PC as well. However, I enjoy the 360 more as it's more oriented as for what I bought it for (games). Anyway, on to Sony! The Cell processor is indeed quite powerful, and its GPU, the RSX, is too for its time. However, the main thing is with its architecture. Sony basically made a processor, where the programmer has to have one main thread, and then break up the other instructions into small "nuggets" and pass them around to the rest of the SPUs. The problem is, this isn't your average setup for a computer, and programmers aren't going to change to accommodate one console, when the 360, PC, etc. use regular multi-cores. It's quite egotistical of Sony to think any studio would devote so much time to squeeze every ounce of performance out of the PS3 if they're also developing on other consoles. Now, Insomniac Games and Naughty dog both only work on the PS3 and no other current-gen console, so they have the tools and time to get more performance out of the PS3, and you can see this by looking at Uncharted (best looking PS3 game, IMO) and Resistance. Another thing is (and thankfully this probably won't be an issue next-gen), is that Sony basically had to delay their console by a year not for "new powerful gaming hardware" but rather due to the costs of Blu-ray. Sure, it's great to have a Blu-ray player, and perhaps this move helped Sony win the HD-DVD/BD wars, which is a plus for them. However, the RSX by the time the PS3 was released could have been replaced with a much faster card, which would have a lot more room for developers, not to mentioned more addressable memory, which the PS3 lacks. So those are my opinions. What are yours? :)

However, last year, it was horrible. During the Halo 3 videos that everyone was waiting for, G4TV kept cutting to commercial breaks, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BIGGEST ANNOUNCEMENTS! How's that for milking your audience!

8800gt or HD4850. Get the 8800gt if you do any 3d work, as ATI is behind on 3d app drivers.
