I'll give it a rumble using a different memory card and/ or my PS2 and I'll report back with the results.

Tanks.

The floating in space scene in FF8 was a real tear jerker.

I finally stumbled upon FFVII for the PS1 at a market stall a few days ago for a cheap price, and it was an instant buy. I could hardly beieve my luck, finding a gem like this. Original release (by this I mean a non-platninum edition) in great contdition and containing all three discs. I rushed home, fired up the PS1 and prepared to indulgde in another gollap of Final Fantasy action.

All seemed fine untill I arrived at the first save poin. For some reason, the game froze while I was attempting to save it. "Must have just been a glitch" I thought to myself while restting the console. I started again and decided to skip the first save point entirely, but when I attemted to save my game at the second save point the same thing happened.

Is there anything I can do to work around this? Or have I just been sold a dogdy copy of the game? As I've mentioned, the disc appears to be in great condition, and apart from the problems while saving, it seems to run just fine.

Any help or tips towards how to combat this problem would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I'm a big fan of both of these games but I'd rather see another G.O.W. than another P.O.P. because the P.O.P. triogy has told, and ended it's story. But G.O.W.2 left off on a cliff hanger that needs to be finished.

Vigilante 8 had a better combat system than the old Twisted Metals, but I think that the dark side the the TM games brought across make them win the battle,

Twisted Metal will always be the king of car carnage games in my opinion.

I couldn't agree more. I've played with a rock band for a long time and I've really felt it doing damage to my hearing. I usually watch DVDs with subtitles, and any time I get the chance to I use subtitles in video games too. The problem is that I don't too often get the chance to because there are to many video games that don't sport subtitles. I often find myself screwing around with the sound options to make the vocal louder than the soundFX or music, but a lot of the time these options don't apply to the FMV sequences which leaves me back to square one.

So, cutting a long story short, yes, I think games should be fitted with subtitles.

Oooh, there are just so many to choose from.

My favorites would be:

scorpion (Mortal Kombat)

Ken Masters (Streetfighter)

Paul Pheonix (Tekken)

It all depends on the game. GTA works well withs violence and bad language, but allot of games work without this. Can you imagine Mario if it was all violence and swearing? No? Thats because it just would not work.

Then again, on the other hand, can you imagine GTA is you played as a law-biding citizen? No? Thats because the wouldn't work either. It all depends on the game that you are playing.

The only games mentioned that I have played are Max Payne I and II. The original one was excellent and a toroughly enjoyable game, it's well worth buying. The sequel, on the other hand, played like a two dollar imitation of it's predessor.

Buy the original. Rent the sequel.

It's very rare that I spot a good PS1 in a store without buying it. I've always got my eye on bargain bins, and I often get blessed with mint condition PS1 classics.
