@ChldsPlay: Losing money, vs has no money to payout employees is different. They could have 20 million in the bank. The studio with 200+ people costs over 2 million a month to pay salaries. So they are downsizing to stay alive with 50 people for another 3 years or whatever....
@gamingdevil800: They still have employees and the company is worth some amount of money. They had to inform the employees of layoffs. They didn't. They broke the law. They will pay with money in the bank or money from any future profits. The company is still alive and is an entity making money. You don't know how much money they have saved still.
@BlackSquare Eh. What percentage of profit should the players get for having a 3D piece of text with their name and number? As of now it is only their #. I don't think they deserve more than bonus' given to the developers (actual employees).
1 million copies x 60 dollars = 60 million. 60%MSRP of 60 million = 36 million to EA. wtf are you talking about? GTA made half a billion and sold million(s).
@afrsamurai88 @dpadam450 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL The NFL is a non-profit association. They do not own any teams. Which is why teams have "Owners" who buy those teams. The NFL owns the broadcast, when two teams come together. I'm not sure what exactly the NFL owns:
Do you see NFL on the trademark for Baltimore Ravens? No. They might get a cut since it is a collective entity and they may have an NFL contract. http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4805:755t38.5.1
For college though, I can tell you 100% that the teams own their trademarks and can on an individual level decide to be in a videogame or not.
@VolcanoMan001 No, this doesn't say anything about exclusivity. 2K and EA would still need a contract and this says there are NO contracts to ANYONE. Also NCAA is not the same as colleges. Colleges can still sell their names.
