The problem is how can you judge the console on its launch when it might be around 6-7 years.

As a JRPG fan I would say the 360 was superior for the first 2 or 3 years, and now its not even close, PS3 wins by mile even without P5.

You really have to wait and see what happens.

I have pretty much every anime that these characters are from in my library. Tears, Utawararemo, Comic Party, to heart, etc.

Sure for a guy just looking for a fighter they might not know any of them, but I find it hard pressed that anyone who buys Atlus games won't know at least a couple of the characters.

Im kind of ticked off MS bought out Top Gear. Gran Turismo like with pretty much everything in racing sim was the first game to feature Top Gear related material in Gran Turismo 5.

Sigh, Forza will always be a second tier citizen to GT despite shelling out cash. And for those who say otherwise, your beloved Forza 4 and 3 were outsold by 5 alone.

I still like to play Forza because its second best, but just saying it is not all that and a bag of chips.

I dont like how the reviews now have just the gamespot score at the top, the user score way at the bottom, and where it the critics score?

This is not a hard concept to grasp. People are jerks/negative naturally, and gaming anonymity allows people to act how they really feel. Same thing with alcohol. Most of us have the common sense to act with certain levels of decency and decorum in day to day activities, but I would wager for most people this is often a facade. Its really as simple as that. We have the intelligence to keep our instinct and base nature at bay, but it does not mean what we project is our true selves. Now I am not saying people are down right evil, but most fall into some nebulous gray area.

Hell society and culture are built around it. We help our clans, family, and own political states, with most acts of aid or generosity being to put on appearance. Very few people are altruistic, and even fewer are what you could say as true altruism, ie they do something to help someone and don't even get feelings of helping somone back, ie internal benefits.

@Gelugon_baat Summed it up best imo. Gamespot is relatively mainstream, so of course big titles like AC IV and Call of Duty will continously mark high, while something more niche like Paradox ranks low. The way I view it is this, I don't really care about the scores unless it deviates from expectation. Hence if a jrpg got a high score on this site then I would think, man it had to be really really good to get that kind of score, and it might bump that game to the top of my list.

Kotaku seems to be more jrpg friendly, ie they share the same tastes as western jrpgs fans, so if gamespot irks then just go by their ratings.

@brockelley @forcefactor13 But thats on the developers not the system. It look bad because of the way the rocks fall, etc. That scene would look bad on any system.
