I don't get the $100 difference in price estimates. When guessing the price there are some good articles breaking down the cost of each component to come up with a price. This is how Sony and MS do it. What optical drive would they put in that costs them $100?
Personally I would expect to see a $50 difference or the digital version is by far the better deal.
It would be nice to see the digital version be $500 but have a lot more storage. Optical should be cheaper with less storage.
It has nothing to do with the cost of the build. The PSN store is the only place to buy digital games. You can't buy them on amazon and you can't buy them used. You are locked into whatever price sony sets. So Sony will guarantee future profits by procing the DE cheap enough for you to give up the optical.
LOL... That Koolaid must be great.... The only thing worse then paying too much for a PS5 is buyinq any XBOX. XBX Best value ? for what PC games ? and b level games at that... Xbox is the HULU of the video game world...
