@JunoWalker Truman wanted to enter the war long before the attack on Pearl Harbor, but Congress kept voting him down.

As for kicking ass and taking names;

Eisenhower: we should meet the soviets in the middle of Germany.

Churchill: We should go right through Germany and ignore the soviets.

Eisenhower won causing the divide between East and West Germany. Causing the start of the Cold War. I wouldn't exactly call that kicking ass and taking names. If it wasn't for Britain winning the Battle of Britain chances are you'd be talking German now.

As for the use of Nuclear Weapons, I honestly don't think that is something to brag about or be proud of. But that's just me.
