@Buckhannah: I'm not sure I understand. Please clarify. Why would I not be serious?

@durpdurp1234: All of it. You bring up stuff from the Old Testament that applied only to the Jews of that time (blended fabric, trimming hair etc..) Then tell me that I should be giving half my money to the poor, which the bible does not teach etc... Do you even know why God did not want the Jews to blend fabric, not trim or cut their hair a certain way, eat shrimp, pork, etc...? Then take a bible study and find out. I simply don't have the time to explain each of the things you've gotten wrong in a thread like this. Hence... The recommendation that you study the bible. If you seriously want to understand what the bible teaches my friend, you will study it at a good bible teaching church. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt because you obviously have no clue to what it teaches.

Also... Everyone knows about the "ill's of homosexuality already" my friend. I have not mentioned any of the medical or physiological statistics concerning this practice. Of course the PC thing to do now is to ignore all of this and just pretend that it is just another healthy lifestyle choice and bash anyone that just does not blindly follow along. I have only brought up the fact that it is not marriage, another thing that I'm just supposed to follow along with blindly.

So durp, did you want that recommendation or not? I would still be happy to point you in the right direction if you are interested.

@Buckhannah: Actually you should say some liberal scholars make those claims. Not true though. The majority of scholars acknowledge the validity of Luke and Peter's authorship.

@durpdurp1234: You are just showing your lack of understanding scripture my friend. If you let me know the general area you live in I might be able to recommend a good church where you could do some bible study.

@durpdurp1234: I've ignored nothing from scripture my friend and I am not brainwashed. I've witnessed first hand what God can do. I know/have known/know of many people that have been set free from all types of sin, including the sin of homosexuality. God is a reality that we cannot get away from.

@Buckhannah: Actually Luke wrote the book of Acts and recorded what Jesus has told Ananias concerning Paul. Paul did not say this concerning himself.

The Apostle Peter wrote concerning Paul's writings,

2Pe 3:15-16 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

The Apostle Peter, who walked with Jesus equated Paul's writings as scripture.

And Yes, Jesus spoke on homosexuality in the Old Testament. Jesus is the I AM, the everlasting God. All things were created through Him.

@Buckhannah: Your view is not accurate at all.

I have to run. I will revisit this thread when I have time. I hope you have a great day!

@Buckhannah: Jhn 8:56-59 “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham? ”Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM. ”Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Jesus claimed the title "I AM", the same title God claimed when He spoke to Moses from the burning bush. He also claimed to have known Abraham. So, The same "I AM" that gave Moses the Mosaic laws, and the same God that dealt with Abraham before He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah was a pre-incarnate Jesus.

Act 9:15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.

Speaking of the Apostle Paul, Jesus referred to him as a chosen vessel. It is the only time in the bible that the term chosen vessel is used. Jesus would not have chosen Paul to represent Him if Paul was going to misrepresent His teachings. So we can be assured that what Paul taught, is what Jesus also teaches.

@Buckhannah: Actually "hell" is described differently in different places. The bible uses the phrase "outer darkness" and also describes hell in terms of fire. Essentially hell is eternal separation from God. I believe that the images the bible uses are to illustrate how great our suffering will be separated from God, not that we would feel physical pain as a fire were really burning us.

And no... I am not saying " Do what Jesus says or burn in hell forever". Jesus came to save us from the path we are already on. If you were hanging from a cliff and were going to fall to your death, you would not fault the person who came to rescue you for lowering a rope. At least I wouldn't. I'd be thankful they came to rescue me.

@mattbbpl: Hi Matt. You've heard the verses before. Your bearing tells me you have.
