@game4metoo: There is no other kind of 4K and HDR10 is a standard. There's no alternative besides paying Dolby royalties for Dolby HDR (which is better but more sensical to do for movies).
@Frozzik: No, I'm also a 980TI SLI gamer; there's a huge difference between being able to run 4K and doing it well at optimal rates. You need to SLI for high graphics & 4K. Even with the 1080.
@angrycreep: Weird; the primary reasons to have a console is because they're being more friendly and inviting for local multiplayer and games focused on that like dancing games and sport games like Madden; lack of space or not being able to afford PC hardware sufficient enough for optimal performance worth getting a PC for over a console (high on 60FPS), and family-oriented reasons like not having PC(s) hogged up by significant others (kids/significant other) for gaming when you want to game or be productive on the PC.
@game_spock: Please elaborate what about Windows 8.1 makes it better than Windows 10 in terms of productivity, performance, hardware optimizations, hardware support, base services support (inc. browser), and so on?
I think there can be a middle-ground and more insightful discussion for anyone that comes across this thread in the future…
@speed45823: Your logic is questionable; being a heavy Mac & Windows user, I don't see anyone saying the same thing about Apple or what they also automatically send to their servers when people use a variety of services in their OS.
Apple is a big company, no?
That's the same with almost any major OS out of the box. I think the Windows 10 "spyware" talk is ridiculous and it's more because such users aren't cautious enough to actually understand how the Internet works, how Web services work, and the Terms of Service they never (foolishly) read.
@game_spock: I've used Windows since DOS as a kid, used Windows 95 & Win 2000 to program & etc.
Ubuntu on Windows, Microsoft Edge, and the capabilities to support several modern technologies associated with SSDs, CPUs, and GPUs alone make Windows 10 as of today a significantly superior version of Windows than 7.
