Speaking of Fallout3, it's kind of weird. Oblivion on PS3 (even though released later than the 360) had better visuals and smoother gameplay. How did they manage to screw up Fallout3?
Personally, I think it's the DirectX to OpenGL porting when it comes to graphics. Those are very different languages. The PS3 doesn't use the standard OpenGL, but two specially developed versions.

I'd recommend getting a bluetooth headset, any bluetooth headset will do. More wireless = less tripwires :)
