If anyone else ever has this problem, I solved it using a different Screenshot program called HyperSnap 6. It costs like $35, but has a 20 day free trial. But it doesn't work for DOS games, so unless you need a lot of Windows 95 era screenshots, 20 days should be enough.

I would explain the problem but I'm sure you can tell.

I'm using a program called Gadwin PrintScreen. It works fine on a fewprograms, but sometimes the colors come out all icky-like... any ideas?

Are there any scratches and the game discs? You can also try using a lens cleaner to clean the lens.GoldenSurfer

Not that I noticed. I really think it's a problem with the PS2 itself since it's only the loading times that are affected. The games play perfectly when they're not frozen...

this is most deffinately a problem with your ps2's laser eye. It can be easily fixed at your local gamestore, but is also very easy to do yourself if you know what your doing. There are very thourough forums on this type of problem. But to give you a quick briefing: you have to take apart your ps2, and open up your disc tray. take a que-tip and dunk it in rubbing alcohol and softly rub with eye with your recently dipped que-tip.

another thing i like to do after i do this is take a can of compressed air and spray the insides of my ps2 as gently as possible to get rid of any loose collections of dust or dirt. After doing all of this, your ps2 will most likely run better than it has in several years. Good luck.RedDraco66

Okay, I'll try cleaning the laser. I was a bit nervous about opening it up but if I'm thinking of replacing it anyway, I suppose I may as well.

I found this website for cleaning tips: http://www.cyber-mag.com/station/laserPS2.htm I'll just follow what they say unless anyone thinks they're shoddy instructions.

My PS2 (old style, not slimline) has been acting up a bit. When I want to start a new level in We Love Katamari, it takes over 3 minutes of nothing happening before it starts. And when I play God of War (original, not GOW2), after the fight scene by the fountain, when the girl runs away down the hall, it goes to a Loading screen and NEVER comes back. I've tried it three times and it always freezes at the same screen.

Has anyone else had this type of problem? If so, did you find a way to fix it? Or will I have to replace my PS2 if I ever want to see the rest of God of War?

Thanks all! (and sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, I did a forum search but didn't find anything that matched my issue)
