[QUOTE="blue_hazy_basic"][QUOTE="Messiahbolical-"] Well if you want to break it down like that and make it seem insignificant, that's cool... but the reality is that every year adds up. breaking it down to "only $5 a month" is pointless because nobody has a console for only a month's time. If anything, the price should be measured in gens. Because isn't that how long the majority of hardcore Xbox gamers will be paying for it? It's been almost 6 years since the 360 came out and there doesn't look to be a new Xbox for at least another year, probably more... so we'll say around 7 years. 7 x $50 = $350. That's how much XBL really costs. $350 More than the console itself. Whether or not it's worth the money to you is purely up to you and I don't want to hear it. I'm just proving to you that the mentality behind breaking it up into "blah blah per month/week/day" is stupid and pointless.Messiahbolical-How many XBL suscribers have had an account for 7 years I wonder, thats the flaw with that equation. There's people who have had it for 9 years already. If you've been gaming on XBL since last gen, the chances are you've already had it for 7 years. And if you started XBL this gen when the 360 launched, you'lll add up to 7 years next year like I said. You're missing the point, and the point is that every year adds up. You can't just say $(x) per month, because like I said you're not paying for it for only a month. Like I said before, there is NO argument anymore about this. You are seriously reaching here trying to deter the real issue which is my data had been compromised over a free service I have been using for three years as opposed to a paid service I have been using for six years. There is no argument. If on average I am paying $40 a year (which is what I think it is) to keep my personal data safe FAR outweighs the cost of me constantly monitoring my credit cards and praying that someone doesn't take MY personal information and try to do something with it that is going to hurt me and cost me nothing but anguish. Do you realize this data is all over servers across the world now? People with malicious intent holding onto it doing only God knows what. I bet if something bad were to happen to you because of this breach into PSN, I guarantee you would be WISHING you paid a measly $5 a month or $60 year to keep that data secure.
[QUOTE="daledoback"][QUOTE="Timstuff"]I want less lag, faster downloads, cross game chat and in-game video chat.Crossel777Basically you want Xbox Live. He didn't put monthly subcription charges in there. Yeah the whopping $5 a month to keep my personal data secure including credit card information is a rip off. Sorry, but there is no arguments anymore for paying for Xbox Live vs the joke PSN is. Not one thing.
