@Def-Trex: Not even Prince of Persia: Sands Of Time? The first three Splinter Cell games? Those are classics! I do agree though that Ubi has gotten so big that they really slacked off on quality control though. Whereas even EA has been trying to improve their own. Ubi needs to slow it down a bit. Put out an Assassins Creed every other year, instead of yearly. Maybe make a new pirate IP out of Black Flag's gameplay...throw a little Sid Meier's Pirates and Port Royale into it.

@Yomigaeru: The difference between a 9 and 10 is pretty arguable. It's just easier to slap a 7 or an 8 on everything, so that when a 9 or a 10 comes out, it holds more consumer review value. It's dumb, but serves its purpose.

Me, I don't read crap-ass reviews anymore. I just get on Twitch and find somebody playing the early stages of the game and watch for a while. Because then it's me deciding if I want the game or not, as opposed to a paid reviewer, who (like some on this site) are way too jaded to be reviewing games with the kind of open mind a consumer would have. Plenty of games that got terrible reviews, I loved. Plenty that got great reviews I grew tired of pretty fast.

I wish Nintendo would make a normal, traditional Pokemon game for the Wii U. Maybe I'd play one for the first time since the original Game Boy Colorless. They just keep screwing up everything. The new Starfox doesn't really remind me much of Starfox, the new Metroid is a disaster and a hint that to expect something like Metroid Prime 4 is going to happen *maybe* for my great grandkids to play and enjoy. My biggest confusion is why Nintendo just doesn't care to take advantage of 1080p for sprite-based games that would look absolutely phenomenal in HD? Like why not even do something like remake Link To The Past in HD? Or old Mario games simply re-released in HD but otherwise unchanged? Nintendo could do this with minimal development other than replacing graphical assets, and make 10x as much money as they would on a "innovative" sequel that nobody really wants.

In the case of Pokemon, I get that it's Nintendo's choice to have a franchise meant to uphold handheld sales, refusing to do a console version. Even Advance Wars (which is all but dead) was mainly a handheld game, with a disappointing "spinoff" console version. I just don't friggin' get Nintendo. They're worse than Square when it comes to having any kind of pulse on their consumers. Square is dropping the ball on the FFVII remake...but at least they're trying.

@tsunami2311: Seems more like Tammor wants attention by how this article is written.

It uses the same height map because it's obvious the game was supposed to be DLC for Far Cry 4.

It explains why so much was reused (a large portion of the animals), and what was suspiciously removed (multiplayer, co-op, map maker) but the real red flag is that it doesn't have a Season Pass. It was marketed as "the new Far Cry" but doesn't have a Season Pass. So it's pretty clear they took what was probably supposed to be maybe $30 DLC (just like Blood Dragon), made it standalone, and charged $60.

Some stores seem to be onto Ubisoft's bait and switch, because I know of one offering a $15 off coupon for your next trip to the store. With the fine print specifically saying if you try and return Far Cry Primal, you will have $15 deducted from the cash you get back. As if the store expects (or was told to expect) a heavy price cut within the typical 90 day period to return an item. Which is pointless anyway, because the store won't let you return opened videogames.

It finally dawned on me why the text-based news is slowly disappearing from the site. A 30 second ad to watch a video with less than a minute of content, where the video ads nothing to the story, it just forces the viewing of a 30 second ad.
