I hope they improve on the previous Mafia game. Mafia 2 is a really good game. It's just far too linear. The only things to do outside the main story are collecting posters and cars for money that you don't even need. I admit that customizing cars can be fun, but it's a waste of time. The free roaming is also boring in comparison to GTA or RDR. They need to add some side quests. You are playing as a member of the Mafia (or budding Mafia member) so there would be plenty of jobs that you could do.
I say only remake a game to improve it or re-image it like they did with DMC. I can't see them improving the overall game, better graphics would be nice but not really necessary, and it doesn't need a new image. So NO.
I thought that Downpour was actually quite good. The series has hit it's ceiling though, in my opinion. I can't imagine that anybody will ever be able to beat the original trilogy (1,2,3) but the they are still putting out solid titles unlike Resident Evil.
