I got MKV files FLV files and some AVI files that I would like to convert in a way the PS3 can read. Some AVI files play just fine, but for some reason, some does not. I got MKVtoVOB which works great with MKV files, but that is all it handles. Preferable would be great if there was a single pice of software that would convert many files to PS3 compatible files.
You DO NEED an HDTV to fully experience a BLU-RAY movie. So my suggestions to you would be get one to get the full glorious potential of both Blu-Ray and the PS3.

I got one in my living room, I gotta get one for my room though. That is the next big step. With tv prices falling down, that should be no big deal. I only don't get it now, because on my room I have a large TV with components cable, working fine, and if I get an HDTV, I will have to sell/give it away, as there is no room for it.
I have 300 and apocalipto on DVD, I really did not like Sin City that much. I did not wanted to get movies I already have on DVD. I might buy 300 and Apocalipto eventualy in the future when they are much low in price, as I already have on DVD. Any movie that I buy from now on will mostly be on blu ray, which probable be the most recent movies, but I like to see it first before I buy considering the price.I've never even heard of Dark City. GTA IV isn't a terrible choice but I would have went with an exclusive (maybe Uncharted: Drake's Fortune?) and I would have gone with something that would have showcased the Blu-Ray more, something flashy like Sin City or mindlessly action driven such as 300. I went with Apocalypto personally and I'm glad I got it, visually stunning.

I have all the other GTAs for the ps2, I wanted to try something else, but I knew I could go wrong with GTA. I though resistance 2 was suppose to be a good game. And there was a single seller selling under 30, for a new one everybody else was over 50.GTA IV is a great game, Resistance 2 isn't

Well not here yet, but I got a gift card for christmans from Amazon, and after a lot consideration, I got Dark City, and GTA 4. I was going to get resistence 2, but it went 2,37 cents over the 40 dollar gift card I had, so I changed to GTA4. I knew I wanted Dark City, I wanted Dracula too, but I it was 3 dollars more expenssive then DC, and GTA4 + DC = 39,97, which was close to perfect.
Amazon has this free shipping ellegibility, but the R2 free shiping ellegibility was 55 something, and other seller had as low as 25,99 + shipping. DC was 9.99 with the free shipping ellegible, but you need 25 bux for that, so it didn't work out. I guess I could have wait, and borrow someones credit card, but I just needed to get it already, specially knowing this prices have being up and down seems I put on my cart. I had like 236 dollars worth of thigs I thought about getting, but I had to narrow down to 40 bux.
Did I made a good buy?
