and the frame rates only lag at STOOPIDLY HIGH RESOLUTIONS--my moniter only displays in 1440x900--so my 8800gts is more than enough at these resolutions--the only reason i'll buy a 8900 when they are released will be for the fun of it---VISTA ROCKS---XP SUCKS
whoever posted that 8800s had crap frame rates STFU IDIOT anandtech's review of them is about 70years old--considering that they are used in the development of dx10 games,i dont think anyone who purchased them is gonna have to swap em for 8900s when they are released

why are most of you comparing this card against the NVIDIA 8800gtx?. the 8800gtx blows this card away in all respects and this card will never compete with it.This half arsed POWER HUNGRY attempt is up against the 8800gts where things are a little more evenly matched.This card trounces the 8800gts in 3Dmark06 by a good 2500 points, whilst in real world performance the 8800gts is muck quicker 10 to a stagerring 40fps faster in 2 or 3 games with much better image quality to boot,and a word about drivers do you think NVIDIA would give ATI 6months worth of hardware and fully functioning drivers to examine--funny how a beta driver appears on the 15th may aint it, as it just happens to coincide with the first showing of some dx10 gaming demo, and i dont know about you guys but that frog demo works perfectly for me now with no stuttering.so if you all think that ATI is gonna bring out a driver that takes this card to GTX levels think again, anyway ATIs drivers are always poop.I do not want to sound disrespectfull but GAMESPOTS review is kind of rubbish go check out overclockers or toms hardware for a more revealing review
Shotgungore i think you misread my post idiot--why would i after, paying 830quid on 2x8800gtxs wanna Play Oblivion or Fear 1920 x 1200 on an HDTV when i can play em at 2048x1536 or above
can i just say that i agree ,that graphically gears of war beats anything on pc at mo,i should know ive just sold my hacked 360 and 57 copied games(god i luv pc)because i started to feel like a girl if i tried to play it for longer than 10 mins,but we all know that soon CRYSIS is gonna come out ,and just blow us all away,all other fps wil be forgotten in a certain kind of way,just like thet were when farcry came out-then those silly little fanboys will have absolutley nothing to go on about
