Not only are Square devs completely out touch with the market but they also have no ambition. I sometimes imagine them as all just very tired old men falling asleep around the boardroom.
On this specifically he’s talking about the junction system being too difficult. Maybe for 10 year olds? For the rest of us, the problem with the battle system is that it is totally broken and easily exploited.
Given their track record they aren’t going to be happy until you can play through battles by just holding one button.
Look at how fighting games approach this. They give optional detailed tutorials with simplified button presses which make them approachable but sacrifice absolutely no depth at all. All the progression and learning and experience are still satisfying. I’ve just completely given up on Square. They need a massive staff clear out. Fresh blood.
Honestly, as I’m playing through this it just amazes me that not a single reviewer thought it pertinent to mention that they’ve gutted the game of its amazing anime cut scenes. Like, why on earth would they take the awakening anime scene out? It’s a series staple.
The general look and sound of the game as well is so flat. The visuals look like Lego blocks in game - it looks a lot worse than Persona 5, which is insane considering how many years ago Persona 5 came out. And the sound mixing is really poor, as well. It lacks any impact.
This really screams of producer demanding a cash in. I blame Sony for this. This isn’t the Atlus that made P1-5.
I finally played this game. What a disaster. Flat, lifeless. They actually removed the anime cut scene of Minato’s awakening. How unbelievably lazy is that?
Lets hope its more game than movie.... I couldn't even bother to try death stranding after seeing so much footage of it just him walking and balancing packages for what appears to be hours on end, Will always love the metal gear games but Kojima hasn't done much in many many years
Wants a game that’s more gameplay than movie. Complains about a game that’s more gameplay than movie that he hasn’t played.
@chriss_m: guys overwhelmingly prefer to operate male characters. The vast majority of which are still male. I think she gets a pass mate.
Are the vast majority male? Do guys overwhelmingly prefer to operate male characters? I don’t know if either of those things are true.
But let’s say they are. Why would that get her a pass? I’m not giving the guys a pass. I think I just appreciate games, and art in general, in a sort of different way from you and your girlfriend.
