I think there is a tank at the airport.Also you can by a tank at the car store which is called a rhino. Also there is a mission once you unlock the xin missions were you have to ride a tank.
the swirls are only can be used after completeing the story. After completeing the story two of all the swirls has golden lions which can be used to unlock two new missions called the xin missions. The only way for you to go on amunation is by completing one of the missions for uncle kenny. Then later in your pda there should be a amunation section so you can buy weapons. Thats the only way to get weapons beside hijacking the amunation truck or killing cops or criminals.
The lions are hidden randomly for each player. So each player finds the lion in a different place.
