Some monotors and tv's do not upconvetr to 1080i from 720p. Because of this, you will see a black screen.

This problem is only when you use component cables. If you use dvi, your fine.

Forget vga. Use dvi if you have a monitor unless you have a monitor that also has hdmi input.

Either than that, the ps3 is a sick little puppy that can handle anything you through at it.

I would suggest you go with a 24 inch monitor with either dvi or hdmi, but if you go with a tv set, go with lcd 1080p but not bigger than 46 inch.

If you want a bigger tv, wait until the led displays come out in about 4 to 5 years and then you will still be able to have a perfect 1080p and finally having the full advantage of blu-ray quality games and movies.
