Would like to share my game: My Child: Lebensborn

It is a story-driven nurture game about emotional survival, based on the true stories of Children Born of War.

A mobile game with Kickstarter out now:

@MirkoS77 Yeah that must be fun. Would be interesting to see if they hire in people to do development if they become hugely successful.

For starters, the visuals are better. As far as I know the headset uses two 1200x1080 pixel screens, and the Field of View of the headset is high enough to create a sense of presence. You can see movement at the very edge of your eyes and turn to track it smoothly. Being able to move around, having the controllers represent your hands, plays an important role too. You have two joysticks with touchpads and trigger-style buttons that let you interact with the world you are in. Viewing things while being able to use your whole body instead of being stuck in one place really makes a difference.

Of course, playing the Portal demo helped in dazzling me XD
But the drawing demo is also pretty cool.

@mr_huggles_dog Yes of course it is a gimmik, but considering how open Valve are with developers and how accesible it is to us, I would say you can expect to get several games out. If they will stick or not is of course something that we will just have to wait and see. Might still be too soon, but developers are getting psyched about this. Especially Norwegian developers might take a chance on this, since several developers probably will get state funding to create VR-games. I already know of a new company starting up that has some cool ideas and we are doing a VR jam in our offices in just a few months. :3

When I say tablet, I mean tablet like Surface or DELL's XPS Surface like tablet. Both runs AAA PC games. DELL's version is just more gaming friendly. With DX12, both will run PC games much more efficient.

But, it will take over slowly, and XboxThree/PS6 will be close to irrelevant when tablet can run all AAA PC games at decent enjoyable quality.

Hm ok I see. Still though, nothing beats being able to sit down in the livingroom and eat dinner while watching your roommate play something. Or sit down one evening and play PT together, passing the controller around when you get too tired of being scared. :P

I don't see VR being that successful. Its a add on you buy separately. A lot of people assume they're going to fire up Call of Duty and have a fun time lol. I for one am not big on having a device strapped to my head, but who knows, I could be proven wrong.

I felt the same way, but have to say that after trying the Vive I now know I NEED to get one. I still think it's not going to be in every home though, of course.

Not next Gen, but, the Gen after, like XboxThree/PS6, will be the last console. Because Tablet will take over completely when people really don't care about the few extra pixels when the games already looked great. And a tablet portability and additional workstation capabilities out weights the stationary consoles.

And this is a conservative estimate.

Well really depends if you can connect it to your TV or not and what kind of games you get. Just sitting on your phone doesn't have the same social feel as consoles do and the games currently out on mobile aren't the large epic tales that you would usually play on console. This is largely down to the developers really. Right now people don't want to really pay for a mobile game and the market is extremely saturated. It's too difficult to earn money there with products that take years to develop. Things might change, but right now you have different types of developers for mobile and console and I don't see that changing for quite a while.

It is a painful and difficult decision to make, I think it is a good thing. Dissapointing, sure, but not as dissapointing as if the game turned out to not live up to it's potential, because of it being rushed. A few months can mean the world of difference to a game.

I think there is definitely enough there to get it now. I do think what you are saying about the community is a good point. You have some really good games there already, like Splatoon, Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, Super Mario Maker, Runbow and a lot of other great games. Not all games have to be party games or replayable to be good though.

There are also more games coming out at the end of the year.

You could, of course, wait for it to drop in price but it really depends on if you want to have fun now or save money.
