@beantownsean: If you can only afford $500-600 for gaming device, buy a console. Don't bother listening to that guy telling you to build your own pc bulls***. PC for gaming is expensive and only for people who really into very good quality of gaming experience like me. By the time you complete your rig, it will easily cost you thousands $$$. Trying to build gaming pc with console budget really not worth your effort (the hassle, installation procedure, compatibility check for each game, windows problem, etc etc)

1st time playing dark souls:

1. no map (where the hell am I and how to get back there?)

2. no objective indicator (what should i do next, i forget the what the last NPC told me?)

3. no area restriction at early level (should i be here, even the common skeleton can kill me?)

4. gloomy and mute (hero without a single word said and NPC voice not come out from their mouth)

5. complicated story (wait, is there any story there?)

6. soul currency (where is the bonfire, i dont want to lose it again)

7. fu$%ing lower level enemies (died 40 times againts the wolf guy and 30% killed by enemies on the way when rushing to get him after respawned)

8. no pause ( i need to pee, please)

9. stupid health potion (cant drink estus flask while fighting, got attacked and attacked again)

10. Goddess with Giant b00bs and heaven song (hooray!!)

@keech the team's job not about how technically to make it an offline game, but exploring whether any additional profit can be generated by make it offline, such as hosting and charging mod, dlc, additional user, etc.

Everybody can make their own gaming console/PC hardware or software how powerful they want no issue. The problem is how to attract developers, provide standard all across machine, worldwide marketing and publication, quality assurance and guaranteed long term continuation. This what sony, m$, nintendo has and the rest dont.

@Evan21 @lightning_lj me too, i placed my ps3 stand by it's side because of space and looked compact that way. Well, I live in a place where space are very expensive, so everything either stand up or stacked up.
