@ronthallsballs: It's almost like RDR2 and F76 are, like, in different genres and with different gameplay systems.

@javelin10: You insinuated that there was something weird about the timing of the reviews. He gave a comical but light response to your question and you reply as if he somehow insulted you? Are you being serious?

@sellingthings: Hence why I said IMO. I'm glad people enjoyed UC4 as much as they did, I wish I was in that group. UC2 was magical so I really wanted UC4 to reach those heights.

@AzatiS: It's hard to diversify the core gameplay concepts of a team shooter - like how it's hard for any 2D platformer to be completely different from one another in its basest form. However, Overwatch shares only the core of Team Fortress 2, it IMO improves upon it in almost every way and is far from being a copycat. What makes team shooters different from one another is the maps and heroes, which are very different between the two games. Of course the core gameplay is the same, TF2 is the genre standard.

@AzatiS: The gameplay options are all in the team-oriented mechanics. Every match is different based on what heroes are in use and who's playing them. I like OW far more than TF2, particularly in their map structure and hero design. Personally, there's no lack of content, that's all perception - plenty of maps and plenty of heroes, there was plenty of variety from the beginning. Balance issues are always present in these games, however, Blizzard was quick in responding to them. Rarely have I been happier to pay 60 bucks for a game, I've put dozens of hours into it and will put dozens more.

Uncharted 4 was, IMO, not close to being the best game of the year. It's great but I wouldn't give it more than an 8. Doom, FFXV, Overwatch and Dark Souls III are to me far better contenders for GotY. UC4's story was meh, the gameplay became samey way too quickly and though it looked ace, it didn't really diversify all that much. I'd choose Overwatch, I usually never play MP in any game, however, OW drew me in with its varied gameplay options and brilliant map design, not to mention its hero design and focus on teamwork (at least in competitive).

@Xanitra: Personally it's my favorite along with Dark Souls (though Bloodborne is my favorite From Software game overall). I find Dark Souls 2 to be the worst, IMO. I also don't really see how you could suffer cheap deaths in DS3, if anything, I found the game to be a bit too easy (except for the Abyss Watchers, which I struggled with for a long time for some reason).

@turianshepard: Not a problem, I think it's good to discuss these things from many angles. I do think Nier: Automata will be a very entertaining game, at least!

@turianshepard: I never get bent out of shape about it. I can recognize exploitation without getting bothered by it. Like I mentioned above, this doesn't faze me or detract from the enjoyment I get for instance from Bayonetta. As for the ripped men, if the guy is shirtless within an inappropriate context (for instance if it's the load-out right before a gunfight), yes, I call it exploitative. SJW is a pejorative term that is greatly overused, there's nothing wrong with less exploitative representation of female characters. It's not about being PC or Western, it's about being functional and not adhere to particular tropes (I for instance wouldn't object to this if it were on a beach removed from combat situations). I am however sorry for what was a pretentious comment from myself, it was immature of me to suggest that the designers were in turn immature for their design choice. I was typing very fast and I tend to extrapolate my points at times.
