@NbAlIvEr10000 @cwells126 See, I don't believe that. A completely generic game would work as long as the teams were balanced the same way the NFL is in terms of the talent it has, it has all modes you would expect (this was the problem with APF 2k8) , and has tons of customization (especially the relocating feature Madden has). PES has to deal with not having licenses that EA has for its FIFA game but they just put generic teams. It doesn't matter since I'd say the gameplay is better on PES. I understand in 2k's position, they wouldn't have ANY licenses, but with the amount of possible customization, the community will take care of that. Also, think of the stuff they could put in that using the NFL license wouldn't allow (ridiculous hits, trash talk, etc.) It's completely possible for their game to succeed, especially with the popularity 2k has built for themselves with NBA 2k, meaning their game would definitely get a look. With all the old NFL 2k heads building hype, marketing wouldn't be a problem. They just need to market what makes their game different, like the stuff they could do without NFL licensing, gameplay, modes, etc.

So does anybody know if the player creation is as detailed as it used to be on last gen? I really hated how stripped down it was last year that it was one of the reasons I sold the game.

Also, this just makes me want an NFL 2k much more. ..every damn year...every damn day.

@joke_man @wncoulte You make a good point with the McDonald's and Madden comparison. However, just because there are other games like Madden hardly change year to year doesn't justify purchasing it. It's not like there are not any other great games, even franchise games, that have improved drastically since their first iteration.

@obiken I don't know the exact details since I don't care for college football but there was a lawsuit having to do with athletes getting paid. Therefore, EA, colleges, etc made money without paying collegiate athletes. Something along those lines. So they're basically trying to pay collegiate athletes. Until this is over, there won't be an NCAA game. I have no idea what happened to golf.

@wncoulte I love you so much right now. I'm studying Computer Science and my very professors tell me games like Madden are just cash grabs by the standards of today's programming and hardware capabilities. As if I even needed to be told haha

Sony's TV service sounds good since Sony will be working with the actual content providers rather than with Cable providers. Therefore, you could pay to stream TV channels you actually watch given Sony does stream your desired channels. In other words, you save money not having cable because the actual channels you watch are on PS4 TV streaming whenever you want. Whether it saves money or not depends on how much it costs to stream each channel and yes, you will likely have to pay to stream each channel, something like Netflix but definitely not as much. Success also depends on how many different networks work with Sony. Of course though, this all has to take a backseat to games and the amount of performance dedicated from the PS4's hardware for games.
It's only useful if you care to watch TV live and it does save you $.
