Probably the first article from E3 I've read that cuts through the marketing BS, which should be commended.

That said, it's still a game. Without respawning, multiplayer would get pretty frustrating, and does anyone really not like checkpoints all that much? True, this is at odds with their realism spin, but perhaps the problem is this focus on realism rather than the gameplay itself? For the record, I hate regen health as much as the next bloke.

@Bumblebee1138 Well they can't do that- we already know what Boba looks like without his helmet on. Wasted opportunity really.

Dude- 'lost the plot' is a common expression- you should look it up. It's like 'off the rails' or 'gone batty', that kind of thing. It's not a comment on the game's plot at all! Now I see why you got so worried! Nah, it's all good- I wasn't talking about the plot of the game at all.

@Bumblebee1138 And if you had seen interviews before, you'd know that what they choose to say and NOT to say can tell us a lot about a game. For instance, the obvious choice for a bounty hunter protagonist would be Boba Fett. Why didn't they pick him? Isn't it curious how they avoided the mention of him?

Also, where did I ever say the game was lost? Sounds to me like you're the one doing the whining now. Not everyone likes what you like. Just deal with it.

"Does Close Quarters Constrain BF3 Too Much?"

In a word, yes.

Every single Battlefield game has been more constrained than the last, save only for BF3's server size being once again as big as 42's. That's why bf1942 -while being the least graphically impressive- is still the biggest, most varied, smoothest, and best game in the series.

@Bumblebee1138 Of course- the demand for X-Wing/TIE Fighter sequels has been more or less constant for the last 10 years or so. The difference with Battlefront is that people could immediately see the potential, having played Batllefield, and the Galactic Conquest mod in particular. This game, much like Force Unleashed, continues to show that lately Lucasarts has sort of lost the plot a bit in what the user base wants. Besides, new content means new merchandise, and for them that seems to be the biggest overriding factor of late.

And of course I've seen new game interviews before, and know how they work. Don't be an idiot.

@the_actor_man Oh give me a break- ANY map editor worth it's salt only has to add a pathmap tool to make any and all custom map creations bot-friendly. The idea that it wouldn't work in Halo is utter crap. Any arena shooter ever made would be enhanced with bots, and the idea that adding things never before seen in a series is 'strange' is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Even your prime example- GoW, didn't have bots in the first game. Did anyone react to the sequel having bots as 'strange'? Of COURSE they didn't!

@Bumblebee1138 Granted, RC was an unexpected success, but it's sequel still isn't nearly requested as much as the likes of TIE Fighter and especially Battlefront. How many departments are working on a game is irrelevant, and the fact that they chose to say that, and that it's mature, instead of saying details that actually describe core elements of the game itself raises questions about why they're hiding even the most basic information beyond it being 3rd person.

First thing I noticed about Halo 4 Multiplayer was a lack of bots.

And that's all I need to know to avoid it.

@Bumblebee1138 Pahahaha! Not likely. And I'm 'whining' about how they're saying that all lucasarts sections are working together on it and that it's a mature game. Neither of those statements is really newsworthy, or indicative of the quality of the game as a whole. They're probably expecting us to be excited because of it. I'll believe it when I see it.

The only thing I noticed about halo 4 multiplayer was that it still doesn't have bots.

And that's all I need to know to make my decision not to buy.
