I don't want to be one of those fans that gives creator's hell for wanting to try something new. As much as I want the next Elder Scrolls, I can appreciate Bethesda's desire to venture out and try some new things first. However, good western RPGs are rare and it seems that the type of games I am not interested in at all, online multiplayer focused, are flooding the market. Bethesda is one of the few companies actually making decent western RPGs, even if their recent effort , Fallout 4, was barely an RPG.

It's just a little disheartening to see them sink time and resources into something that so many other companies are doing, and doing better probably. I have my doubts that Fallout 76 will be a huge success. I could be wrong, but it seems that the big Bethesda/Fallout fans are largely single player/RPG folks and all the other big "online multiplayer" fans already have their games that they're into. Is Fallout 76 really going to be able to compete in the multiplayer market that already has so many dominate forces that have been refining their game play for years?

ESO was different, because it was still kinda unique. A fantasy MMO set in a familiar universe. I hate MMOs, but I still bought it because I was curious to see Tamriel in a new way. Online shooters, however, is probably the most crowded genre in videogames.

I don't want to grief Bethesda for trying something new, but it would be nice if they leaned hard into what they do best and help fill out a very sparse genre of gaming.

Well Bill, Orch OR Theory has been getting traction and could support the existence of at least some aspects of parapsychology, PK being one. There has been some interesting research going on the field of parapsychology, but much of the science community is determined to not give it the time of day. What is the threshold for consciousness in a complex machine? Why exactly would consciousness emerge suddenly from a certain level of complexity being reached? What is the mechanism exactly? I agree with Hameroff and Penrose, quantum consciousness is separate from the brain and exist at the planck scale. It is not bound by the same physical limitations of the body. It merely interfaces with it. There is research to support this.

@sonypony4eva: I just couldn't bring myself to forgive any of the characters. They can go to hell... the whole lot of them. ;-)

@Lazerbeak2125: I don't agree. Luke didn't seem too aware of the force of what it was capable of. It seemed all pretty new to him. However, Rey seemed like she was very aware of the stories and what kind of things could be done. Plus it was implied that she may have already had some training. The ability to use the force effectively really comes down to one's belief that they can do it. It's about getting past the doubt and letting it flow. Just because Rey was able to do this easily doesn't make it bad writing... it just means she is particularly talented. Hell Anakin Skywalker was doing things that no human could do without any sort of training as a kid. Also, her one on one with Kylo may have accelerated the process. He was tapping into her mind and when she discovered she could hold him off, that may have given her the affirmation that she could wield it just as good as him. Once she believed that then using it like she did doesn't seem so crazy.

I understand his frustration about multiplayer but I think a 6 is a little harsh. I think it would have been fair to take into consideration the technical challenges this type of collection faces. This isn't a new game built from the ground up to run on new systems. This is 4 games spanning across 3 different hardware platforms that have been woven together into one cohesive experience. This was a real challenge. This is also an incredible value considering everything you get. Even without the multiplayer the campaigns are beautiful and run smoothly. I think an 8 would have been a better score.

@heretrix You hit the nail on the head. It wasn't the Mako, it actually controlled pretty well... it was the lousy planet design. Sometimes they just got too crazy with the steep inclines. I can't tell you how many times I would get stuck in some little valley surrounded in cliffs and would struggle getting up and over one of the walls. That's not fun,... it's tedious. Create unique and interesting planets that are fun to explore in the Mako and you got yourself a winner. ;-)

@dannydopamine8 Your thinking of Sony, not MS. You lose your games on PSN, your Xbox games are with you always.

Interestingly enough,.. I was just thinking to myself during a Watch Dogs session earlier, "This world seems more believable than GTA." I guess it comes down to gamer preference, but the fact that every single NPC has a name and history (albeit brief one) is incredibly engaging. Hacking into peoples phones and feeling bad when you take money from someone who is having a tough time with something, or poor is refreshing as far as open world games go. Also, the online hacking keeps me on my toes and I am always playing defense should someone come after me. I'll never linger too long in an area with lots of hiding spots, and I have a plan of attack should I suspect someone is in my game.

I have spent more time just wandering around do random activities in this game than I ever did in GTA. Sure there are some design choices I would like to see tweaked but for the first stab at an open world game like this, I think Ubisoft did a great job!

@Stealth3905 Thousands of DOAs on consoles is not normal. The Xbox 360 had a high failure rate over a period of several months and years and the original Xbox was a very reliable machine with very few problems at all. I am not sure where people are getting the idea that DOA products is the norm. I would love to see another example of a high profile device that had instant hardware failure out of the box with so many pro viewers and consumers.

@wowwow27 Amazon has "Amazon Verified Purchase" which means that the person leaving feedback did in fact purchase the product through Amazon. Feel free to go click on the 1 star reviews and note how many say "Amazon Verified Purchase". Spoiler: Most of them.
