I really wonder if either MS or Sony would really create a console that didn't play used games. If only one of them ended up implementing it then it would probably hurt their sales. So how would MS know that Sony would add the same restriction if they decided to move forward with it and vice versa. If your the only one restricting used games then your going to alienate a lot of gamers.

@playniko69 @GOGOGOGURT Your right, which is why we get so many remakes because stories like Total Recall, Judge Dredd, etc.. already have an established fan base. However, so does Halo and Mass Effect.

Halo or Mass Effect film would cost a lot of money, but both franchises have a large enough fan base that these films would probably make their money back pretty fast.

@GOGOGOGURT Exactly what I was thinking. There is a lot better material out there than freakin street racing. I am sure it will be a decent flick, but come on Hollywood.. can we please see something from one of these other franchises that actually have deep interesting universes to explore? It baffles me that a Halo movie still hasn't been made. Even if it was terrible it would make them a ridiculous amount of cash. I just can't understand why something that would be a sure fire project would keep being put on the back burner.

We have got to get a Mass Effect movie also. Bioware has created an amazing and deep universe that would translate wonderfully to the silver screen. I work in the film industry and even I can't understand the Studios thinking sometimes.

@Valen_Ca I don't think he talking so much about the violence in shooters being bad, just the over saturation of them and how much they rehash each other. I agree that game developers need to be a bit more creative in the type of games they produce. Things are getting too formulaic, just like all the bad Hollywood movies that were pieced together in the minds of money people and put on paper by writers for hire. Companies are playing it safe and are weary about taking big chances. It's understandable but the truth is, as long as you put the effort and polish into your new and different idea, then there is a good chance people will play it.

@nuke939 What's even funnier is the title to the article right next to the picture,.. "Just how strong are your friendships?"

In some ways I agree and in others I don't. I think there is definitely a lack of creativity and the current hardware is still powerful. However, there is a lot more than just graphics that requires enormous power. Things like AI behaviors and physics can be improved on a lot and can be used in creative ways to make games more engaging. With more power comes more flexibility.

At least the mmo didn't replace the single player game like the TOR. If they want to venture out into MMO territory then that's fine as long as they keep creating the single player experiences that got people in love with the series to begin with.

"Red_Guerilla67 Posted Jun 20, 2009 7:13 am PT i dont think scribblenauts should be up there it looks horrible" Actually it is probably the most innovative game in a long time. It doesn't have fancy graphics but that isn't the point of the game. Go watch a demo of it, and you will see what it is about.
