@00J @ivan4566 and how many times did you set up the perfect move on offense and then piss yourself with rage when the alien turn killed your best guy? and on the ol' 200mHz PC, the alien turn took 3 minutes. agony - sweet sweet agony.

I'm seriously starting to bleed from the smelling holes with all the talk of attracting younger gamers with simple games... There were SIMPLE games when X-Com came out - the reason it did so well was purely because it WASN'T simple! It would be brilliant (to borrow an overused UK term) to have publishers put their money into a game that is as complex and difficult as the original X-com. I love the concept and can't wait for this, but it does seem like a game designed around finding cover... which is the equivalent of space-bar jumping Danny (which I played over and over again in hilarity)... the milk is gone, the balls are off.

I'm so damn excited for the rebirth of the series, I bought a brand-spanking new PC. That said, from all the videos and blogs, it looks like Firaxis may have still dumbed this down a bit. Time will tell, but in X-Com, your soldiers got more time units as they got more experience; only having 2 time units in the Firaxis version and no base defence may be something to look at in future expansions. Oh, and BRING ALPHA CENTAURI BACK!!! A-CENT = $$$$$$
