On the topic of stupid there are some very ill timed Quests for sure.  Unless Im missing something, Im not sure why these Quests are available at such an early time in the game:

Follow Quina to Witchwood.  Assuming you do this at the start you are around level 5 or so.   The Bandits you encounter near Witchwood are very tough, even for level 15.

The two Quests you get once you arrive at Gran Soren. Escort Mercedes to the Shadow Fort and Escort Reynard to the Great Wall encampment.  At level 10 ?  Madness.   What were they thinking ?

Actually, I cleared the end game Everfall Quest ( retrieve the 20 Wakestones ) in less than 2 hours recently.  It seems they added a huge amount of Wakestone drops since the latest patch.  I recall it taking much much longer in earlier games. So finishing that grind and getting to a NG+ is fairly simple now.

But if you still want to ferry back to Cassardis just leave a Portcrystal there and use a Ferrystone to go back to Gran Soren.  That drops you off right at the Pawn Guild, which is easy access to the Everfall, just run downstairs.

Then in NG+ you can access the Everfall to farm if thats what you want to do.  I have yet to try this though.

Not sure what part of the game you are in now. The Great Wall encampment is only necessary to start the end game fight. Once that is completed you will be back in Cassardis.

It goes like this : Possible Spoilers

Duke sends you to Great Wall. You then have the option to do another quest or continue after the Dragon. I always go straight to the fight and skip the remaining Quest. Once the Great Wall battle is over you will be in Cassardis with your LI. If you go back to Gran Soren you will be forced to meet the Duke. All Hell breaks loose and you are in the Everfall. You have access to Gran Soren via Ferrystone or the Everfall exit ( where Quince is ).

At this time Aslam should be in the Pawn Guild in Gran Soren.

Aside from the constant "connection failure" messages I now get has anyone noticed any odd things since the patch ?

I got attacked by a Golem and Chimera just past the Bridge outside of Gran Soren heading north.  In my 5 or so pre-patch playthroughs I never came across this.  Have random Monster encounters been added ?  I hope so.

Also, stamina seems to be depleting much faster on my Ranger character than in earlier games..  Got to the point where I thought it was a glitch.  Have Rangers been tweaked ?

Anyone notice any other oddities since the patch ?

I get less hires than before but thats probabaly because most guys are farming everfall or UR Dragon and I dont have Pawns that high..  I usually start over after i finish a game and I have yet to finish a NG+..

What type of Pawn do you have ?  Fighters and Casters are probably the most popular..  Id imagine Females get hired more than Males also..

The combat in Skyrim stinks, while the combat in DD is great. Exploring Skyrim was amazing, but is not enough to keep the game interesting and replayable like DD. laezyre
I honestly doubt I will go back to the Elder Scrolls games unless they switch to a 3rd person perspective. DD's combat is so much more fun. Bethesda needs to dump the first person view once and for all.

I agree that Guardian for the most part sucks for any melee type.  I try to avoid it.

As for my issues with Rangers, Ive tried numerous inclinations and they just wouldnt use the skills assigned them.  At least not on a consistent basis.  Another issue is with the Tusk Toss skills.  I lost count how many times my dagger wielding Pawn would miss on this one and just strike at air..

Were you a Ranger or your Pawn ? Ranger is easy mode IMO.. Tenfold Fury is so overpowered. Also makes it much easier in end game to have a ranged weapon. As for a Pawn using a bow Im not so thrilled.. They rarely use the best skills and are very frustrating to deal with. Fighters are the only real class that a Pawn can really own.. Their decent as casters too.
