@blueinheaven: The jump graphic wise from 360 to Xbox one was huge, even from One to S and S to X. I would know, I've had the chance to see it all. Not sure what you are talking about....now if you have a standard tv, maybe ten years old or something(no 4K or 4K no HDR though etc), then no crap you won't really see a graphic difference, guaranteed you wouldn't have seen that on the PS4 as well. You need the TV to go with console, to really take advantage of it. A pc gamer I'm sure doesn't use a standard monitor right....Now as for the huge leap, yes next gen Vs Xbox one would be a huge leap, however its from Xbox One X to Xbox One series, where the real comparison is...As someone who has an x that is my dilemma is there going to be a big a difference between the two. If the difference is a little, but I get higher FPS, faster load times, ray tracing advantages more immersive games etc well I'm happy with that, especially since I'll get a good chunk back on my trade in for the next system....

Spencer talks about Xbox One in his comparisons, not the X. I honestly don't think many people have the X. It's a good console but MS just don't have the games to entice most people to double dip or upgrade and certainly not to switch from the PS4 or Pro.

The Series X will be much, much better than the X. Just playing games at 60fps instead of 30fps makes a world of difference so if I was you I wouldn't hesitate to make the upgrade if you want to stay with Xbox.

@blueinheaven: You don't know that the vast majority of Xbox owners don't have an X, as numbers haven't and won't be released....I'm willing to bet that I wasn't the only one who traded in my Xbox S to gamestop for $250 towards the Xbox One X.....

Yeah I wonder why those numbers haven't been released lol.

@blueinheaven: It's very clear you missed the point.

I missed nothing. If people don't see a gargantuan leap in visuals from Xbox One which was a really weak console to Series X there's something not right and here he is getting his excuses in before it even launches.

You're the one missing the point. Completely.

If he was honest he would say third parties won't have this problem as they're not obliged to cater for the Xbox One. It will only be first party that looks nowhere near as good as it could.

That was a marketing decision. His marketing decision (that's his job). So of course he's going to try to prepare people for the consequences but you know, some of us aren't that easily fooled.

You're not the brightest crayon in the box are you ? This was debunked tons of times by DF. Try doing your research. NO GAMES this up coming generation will have super leaps in graphics. You my friend are in for a very RUDE awakening if you think that will happen. Most gamers now are looking for performance. Though there will be tons of games that will use these features. Read: SabreDj's comment below. As I said kid it's way over your head.

lol look at you pretending to have a clue what you're talking about. It's quite cute. The Series X is light years ahead of Xbox One graphically which couldn't even manage 1080p in most games. Yes that's a 'super leap' specially if you're playing in 4K and we haven't even touched on raytracing yet.

The point I'm making (ask an adult to read my posts and explain if you're still struggling) is Spencer knows the Series X first party games will be under par compared to Sony exclusives because of his cross gen baseline philosophy so he's making his excuses now.

If you still don't grasp it sorry there's just no cure for stupid, little boy.

@blueinheaven: Last response sport, since my time is valuable.

No shit, CDPR isn't a first party. I wasn't saying it was. Again, reading comprehension... I was citing an example of how games are developed by studios across the board, and the approach Microsoft studios will be taking also, period.

Your insistence that Phil is saying something he's not, and choosing to interpret it that way is your delusion. If that's what you want to do, go for it. You'll be proven wrong soon enough.

For the record, I'll be getting both consoles again net gen, so no fanboy here. I just choose to see things for what they are. Have a nice day!

CDPR and other third parties have no obligation to support old hardware with new titles so they can tailor their games as they see fit and reach for the stars with new hardware. Thanks to Phil, MS does and that hampers what developers can do. Are you sure you know how the development process works? It doesn't sound like it.

My interpretation of Phil's comments is based on his past record which is frankly appalling, particularly in terms of delivering on promises.

I expect the Series X to be an excellent console for multiplats for people who don't want an expensive PC, specially with Gamepass. I also expect Sony's exclusives (which will be designed purely for PS5) to piss all over MS's first party offerings from a great height.

If you're buying both well you won't have to worry about any of that anyway so no need to be getting all upset lol.

@blueinheaven: You might need to brush up on reading comprehension then, there's no contradiction. It's The Witcher 3 example in the paragraph above it.

Now either have an honest conversation or go fanboy somewhere else.

Witcher 3 is not a first party Xbox title. You're the one that needs to learn to read. Spencer himself is admitting first party titles won't show a marked visual improvement over Xbox One which was a tragically crap console to begin with.

The vast majority of Xbox owners don't have an Xbox One X so what is he talking about saying there's no identifiable graphics leap with a much more powerful console? He's preparing people for downgraded first party titles on Series X because he absolutely insists on supporting Xbox One for the first few years.

I'll say it again, CDPR don't work for MS they are not even relevant to this conversation. Oh, and someone disagreeing with you doesn't make a conversation 'dishonest'. And what am I supposedly a fanboy of? None of this affects me I'll be playing all their games on PC I'm just amused at Spencer trying to mislead people and divert attention from his clueless backwards-thinking next gen philosophy.

You're the one making all the excuses here so ask yourself who is the fanboy and here's hoping your reply is 'honest'.

@blueinheaven: Nothing will be held back...

This has already been debunked like a million times, by Digital Foundry and countless other independent tech sources. That's not how game development works. CD Projekt Red designed The Witcher 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Not a single day of development or production went into thinking they would one day port it to the Switch. Yet they did and it works with some compromises.

The same thing will be done with the first year or two of games for next gen. Series X and PS5 will be the focus for first party by both companies, the only difference is PlayStation won't downgrade or remove content so it runs on PS4 too, Xbox will adapt it for the Xbox One consoles.

All next gen games the first couple years will be primarily last gen games anyway because it always works that way. We don't see true next gen until 3-5 years into a console when they are getting the most out of the tech. Sure there might be a bell here or a whistle there in some games that only the new machines can do, but that won't be anything like what we'll see later.

Bottom line, the new Xbox games will either be good or bad, period. It being "held back" will have nothing to do with that.

I've highlighted the massive contradiction in your post. You made my point for me.

I'm not saying first party titles won't look good on Series X. What I'm saying is they absolutely positively will be held back by Xbox One.

'While the increase in visuals might not be as immediately identifiable with Xbox Series X compared to Xbox One, Spencer said next-generation games will feel more "immersive" thanks to the power of the Series X'.

lol, he's already making excuses for games being held back by having to cater for the crappy Xbox One.

Well, that didn't take long.

@deviltaz35: Seriously, what have you seen that you think makes it look good? The clip above looks really boring. Just curious what you've seen that we haven't.
