Thank You. This guy hides behind his computer slamming people for having an opinion different from his over a stupid game. How childish. Based upon his eagerness to play everyone online it would seem that his whole sense of self-esteem is hinged on how well he plays Gears online. Very very sad :(.

Just because someone hasn't mastered every facet of a game (i.e. cover system in this case) doesn't mean they can't form an intelligent and accurate assesment about the quality of the gameplay. I usually know if I'm going to like a game within the first 15 min or so, well before I've mastered it.If I don't like it by then, then my opinion prob won't change. Such is the case with Gears. The cover system is difficult to use and the character often hugs the wall when you don't want him tooor darts off in a different direction than you intended. Even if the cover system was easier to use though, I still find the gameplay very repetitive and shallow. Stop, Pop, Rinse, Repeat.

BTW....this is from your review of Gears...

Gears of Wars core gameplay is basically take cover and return fire.The (a) button is the core built for tthe cover system and while this made sound nice due to its simplicity it can be frustrating when you constatly getting stuck to walls or sent to diffrent directions ch can really effect the gameplay in a huge way.

Seems like you weren't a big fan of the cover system either. I just love it when people talk out of both sides of their mouths.......lol. I really like the the part where you acknowledge the simplicityof the gameplay.... there in the first sentence.

BTW....I just bought the game yesterday so I'm definitely not an expert at using the cover system, but that still doesn't diminish the fact that the game is very linear and the combat is very repetitive and boring after the first few hours. COD4, while linear, felt much bigger and wider in its environments.

I disagree. COD4 is linear, but it never FELT that linear, where GOW does.

Forget both of them and get BIOSHOCK! It's a much better game and looks just as fantastic (even better from an artistic perspective) than the other two.

If you already have BioShock then get COD4 unless you know without a doubt that you can run Crysis wide open.
