"you can stick to mostly gunfights and blazing away for the whole game, or you can use tactics and hack bots and cameras, set traps, get creative in using plasmids etc and it's like a whole different game." i concur! it's definately a great game - amazing scenery (scenery isn't really the word i'm looking for though; just the world you can play in and explore is great visually, as well as with regard to how you can interact with it), potential to get imaginative with your combat. plus, a fair bit of extra stuff to explore. for example, i rented the game and played it on my brother's ps3 before i had an xbox last summer, and then when i bought the game a few months ago, i couldn't find one or two of the areas i'd explored last time i played. it wasn't essential to the main storyline, but it just goes to show the world expands quite alot beyond the main quest/objectives. so yeah, definately a very cool game :D also, i got the one with the cool metallic looking box for 8 in pink planet, pre owned. bargain! i definately recommend (:

if you have those sideways-facing arrows (the ones used in html, on the full stop and comma keys of the keyboard), it might be because of them? whenever i put enters to place spaces in between my blocks of text, it doesn't work and it's just one big block of text. so i put in "br" things (but with arrows either side) as spaces. it doesn't seem to work though. tried spacing them out when i have two "br"s in a row, and got the message "your html is not properly formed", and then after fiddling around with it i got the same "no valid tags were found" message. anyone have any ideas about that, or how to put in enter spaces properly?

or harry potter :3 i confess, i still love the harry potter games! even though none have been as good as chamber of secrets on ps2, and philosopher's stone on ps1. i asked for the most recent for christmas and had an embarrassing amount of fun playing it over the holidays.

yeah, it's definately a great game, and i'm still going to continue playing it when i'm done on the computer, but i just think some of the quests could have been a executed a little more imaginatively; ie, they were quite good ideas, just often turned out to be long dungeon treks through passageways that all look the same. as for justifying it by comparing it to a job: it IS a video game, not a job... fable 2, for example, is a great rpg with loads of quests that kept me entertained much more than oblivion. although, i don't get bored of the sneaking aspect of oblivion, which i think bests fable 2 in that area. also, how do i break up my text with enter spaces? it seems to just ignore them :/

bit of a silly question... i'm currently playing between oblivion, unreal tournament 3, bioshock and i also liked fable 2 and a bit of call of duty. and technically i'm someone's girlfriend, sooo... surely it should be "games that are new gamer-friendly", not "girlfriend-friendly". but to answer your question! gta is amusing for everyone and not hard :D or fable 2 actually - really easy combat, and entertaining.

i know this is probably way late, as the game came out years ago (i think?), but i only got it about a week ago, and i have to know: does anyone else find it gets insaaanely dull after a while? it's just full of mindlessly repetitive tasks - argh, i mean quests! every one of them is just like "talk to this person, find this place, then go on a massive dungeon crawl to get a lost object" or something very similar. plus, all the dungeons are virtually the same, just in a different shape. the first thing i did in the game was complete the thieves guild and dark brotherhood questlines, and i've now nearly finished the shivering isles main quest. i've done a few bits of the main quest but it's pretty dull so i've abandoned it for now. i mean, it's quite a fun game, and the first 40 hours i clocked in, i was all "this is amazing!". but it's just lost its novelty i guess. oh, and the fact that if you pickpocket someone in a discreet area like a house, and get caught, then kill them, you still get a bounty, even though the only person that saw it was killed seconds after? lame! and that when you fast travel to a city miles away, in what would be a few hours, the guards already know you're wanted for a crime, even though they blatently didn't have telephones or anything that could send a message that fast? these are only minor annoyances, and they can be worked around, but just saying xP
