Whatever you do, make sure you get a high quality HDMI cable like this one or else you hardly even benefit from HD.

[QUOTE="silversix_"]Where is GRADO? They're better than many brands in your *good brand list*.SoraX64

They're terrible for gaming, and this is a gaming website.

Terrible for gaming? My Grado headphones are great for gaming, I've always loved them.

Grados have small soundstage which makes positional audio not as good as other headphones, that's why I don't think they're as good for gaming.

I'd suggest ultrasones or denons if you like bass. Turtle beach is no good.

My advice is to not listen to anyone saying that the turtle beaches or any gaming headset for that matter sound good. Compared to $5 headphones maybe, but what you should be looking for are quality headphones. HD555 or AD700 would be the best option if you're not willing to spend more.

Why do you need wireless headphones anyway for the PC?

Here's one for the same price, I don't know how good it is though

If you're also going to use them for music, just get stereo headphones which would work with all gaming platforms anyway. They also have far superior sound quality and cost a lot less than comparable "gaming headsets". For example, the HD555 sounds better than the Astro A40 and for half the price. Only thing is, you'd have to buy a separate mic and possibly cable adaptors depending on your TV. Still worth it though, especially sinse you wouldn't want to listen to music with a gaming headset.

And also, about this surround sound thing. It's just a gimmick. Think of it this way: With stereo headphones, there are 2 high quality drivers in each ear. With surround sound headphones, there are multiple, lower quality drivers in each ear. You also basically elliminate bass by doing this. Directional sound isn't even noticably better than quality stereo headphones, because the sound quality is so sacrificed that you lose a lot of detail with the surround sound headsets. This is even worse when you listen to music with them.

Dim? If they are calibrated properly plasma's are more than bright enough. If you are talking about out of the box torch mode, then yes LCD's are brighter, but who leaves TV's at that level?!rastan

I'm just going by my experience, when I tested a few Plasmas a year ago I turned the brightness all the way up, and the brightness of the white was no brighter than the brightness of milk. And that's not very bright at all. That's a big deal because many things in real life are far brighter than the screen of a plasma can produce, so in some cases it's just as important as color accuracy.
