[QUOTE="balfe1990"]

Too Much SHOTGUN.

orb_03_2006

This is what I hate. The entire Gears MP, everyone uses the shotgun. I can't stand it sometimes. But really, we will never bee happy. If people always used lancers, we would still complain.

Gears has always been about the shotgun, and it should definately stay this way. It promotes rushing and fast paced gameplay. I definately don't want Gears to turn into a so-called "tactical" shooter in whcih everyone camps back with assault rifles. I mean nearly every other modern shooter on the consols are centred around assault rifles and camping back (i.e. COD, Battlefield, Homefront, Crysis 2). Everybody just stays back and waitss for players to come to them. Why should Gears resort to that?

Quite frankly, I'm tired of Too Much Assault Rifle in every other shooter, and I'm glad Gears offers something different. Of course, those foreign to Gears multiplayer dislike it because they aren't used to this syle of play in other shooters.

Gears of War 2 online. Gotta love the rushing and fast paced style of gameplay in gears multiplyer! (as opposed to camping in other shooters)

Well I would say Battlefield BC2 has a lot of camping (so does black ops), so if you like that I guess it qould be good to buy. I personally like games in which rushing is more prevalent, like in Gears of War 1/2.

They're alright. I personally think the game's graphics are overated (IGN gave the graphics a 9.5, meanwhile a game like Castlevania: Lords of Shadows got an 8.5 in graphics, even though it looked muched better).

[QUOTE="fascargora"]1. Have you played any PC shooters before Halo? 2. Have you played GoldenEye 007, Perfect Dark, and TimeSplitters before Halo? (Basically console shooters that are actually good) 3. Are you not easily stooped by marketing hype? 4. Played RPG/FPS hybrids like System Shock 2 or Deus Ex? 5. Played a lot of PC strategy and role-playing games? 6. Hate Michael Bay movies and have artistic taste in movies? 7. Are you well educated? 8. Read any books other than the godawful Halo novels? 9. Played any LucasArts adventure games? 10. Do you have high standards and good taste in video games? I doubt any Halo fans fit into any of these categories, if they did, then they wouldn't be Halo fans. I fit into all of these categories, and I'm not a Halo fan, I'm a Valve fan.Jebus213

You need to understand people on the Gamespot forums have a backwards way of thinking. Only place I know where people give hype to overrated garbage arcade games like Reach and Mw2. They also act like the average "follow the leader" consumer. I think its pretty sad. Even the PC gamers are kinda sad on this forum.

75% of "these people" base quality of games on sales......Witch almost means nothing besides the publisher doing a great job at advertising. Also paying review sites like Gamespot and IGN. "Really???? Mw2 got a 9.0 in graphics????"

So true about being websites payed, lol. I couldn't believe it when Halo Reach got a 9.5 in graphics, and then a game like Castlevania: Lord of Shadows (based on the demo), looks way better.

1.) Yes, I played Doom with my Uncle when I was young.
2.) Only TimeSplitters
3.) I am not easily stooped by marketing hype, as I enjoy any game I am intrested in, and don't just buy a game with a good rating.
4.) Yes I have
5.) Not really, just Starcraft (original)
6.) lol, I don't really like Michael Bayl
7.) I got honour roll, so I guess.
8.) Never read the Halo novels, but I do enjoy reading a good novel (just finished Lord of the Flies)
9.) Yes
10.) For the most part

I personally hate Halo Reach though, since I feel as thoguh these are the worst set of maps that Bungie has designed at launch for any of their games, and to be honest, without good maps I really don't have fun playing the multiplayer. However I have bought every other Halo on Launch day (except for Halo 3 : ODST, which I rented on release day), and enjoyed all of them, specifically the first two.

Well I beat Halo Reach in 5 hours and 30 minutes (it sucked), and the multiplayer maps were the worst Bungie has ever offered, but I still didn't regret buying it simply because I've bought and played every Halo since its release. So even if Vanquish is 4 hours, it's really good, and you shouldn't feel like you wasted money even if it's short.
