Metro Ex, Days Gone, God of War, Spiderman, State of decay 2, RDR2, We Happy Few, Far Cry 5, Shenmue 3, Yakuza 6 and the Inpatient for now we'll see how Anthem turns out. MS will not be happy to see this list on a gaming site, there is NOT a single reason to buy the X at whopping 500 USD in this list.
Please take this as a point of reference in any future argument/discussion/debate with Xbox community; when cornered, the Xbox community split into 2 categories, either all of the sudden, miraculously, they all turn into PC gamers who have been playing games on PC since WW2 and seen it all and you get hit with all this superior platform narratives to make up for the sense of inferiority or, again, miraculously, they all have a PS4 and they all played HZD and they all found it decent.. not good, decent, and that’s a game alongside Z:BOW, Persona 5 form the biggest candidates for this year’s GOTY. Please don’t fall for this, these are just a lying bunch, they’re blind Xbox kids who NEVER played any Sony exclusive nor do they own any PS and the closest they got to any Sony game is... change.org begging for titles. Nothing against the Xbox console wish it does better but hard to see how since its mother company gave up on it long time ago (hence no more exclusivity for it) but I sincerely hope MS reconsider some of their decisions and save the Xbox for the sake of console gaming.
1. (Timing) The xbox one was released in November 2013, with an expected cycle of 6-7 years before Sony and MS are at it again to release the next gen consoles, we are already into 5th year of this generation, so the X is either too late to release or too early for a next Gen Console. What happens when Sony decides on a PS5 announcement in the next 18 months ?
2. (xbox one S) MS spent a lot of money promoting the xbox one S after the failed launch of the original xbox one, the S was released to a critical acclaims in 2016 and the world started to slowly love it and consider it as a serious gaming contender for this generation not selling enough due to other factors but, why kill it ? why kill it so soon ?
3. (Brand) If the the xbox one didn’t sell well, the xbox one S didn’t sell well, the xbox one X .......
4. (1st party library on PC) Why create it, market it, spend tons of money on it, sell it or try to sell it when you release its entire library on W10, who today doesn’t have at least a laptop with windows installed and find it cheaper, less hustle, time saving, certainly in a lot of cases more powerful performance and so on to have the game on PC and not bother with your 500 USD console ?
5. (Competition) If Sony making consoles and selling very well worldwide closing in on 70 million units sold AND, their fans, the world gaming press, media and all around the business are telling us it’s because of their exclusive library of games and that can only be played on their platforms, why are we not copying them at MS ? instead of pushing out 3 hardware consoles for one generation not mentioning the endless line up of new controllers hit the market at every curve, when are we going to learn it’s all about the games ? it’s a GAMING console.
6. (Exclusive games) Let’s take 2017 as an example, Sony flooded the market with exclusives that suit every age and taste from HZD to Persona 5 to CB Nsane Triology to Yakuza and keep announcing games that are very very difficult for gamers to miss out on just because the leaves of a tree in multi platform shadow of war look greener on the X than the PRO. Seriously... where are the games ? that you’re only planning to release for xbox and not PC or any other platform ?
7. (Market Target) Even for hardcore xbox fans, the S is at nearly half the price of the X, PC gamers would never convert to consoles and if they do or at least combine a PC + a console will be most likely the PS4 and/or the Switch where they can play games otherwise they can’t on PC, Sony people are not giving up on their exclusive library nor Nintendo guys, newbies to the market will think 100 times before droping 500 USD on a console just for enhanced graphics and blueray capabilities when the poor consumer went to buy a “GAMING” CONSOLE to play “GAMES”. Who is it intended for ?
8. (Price) 500 USD and about 95% of the youtubers promoting the X power are on about Forza 7 crushing GT Sports, please don’t look at it this way, it’s more like you paid 500 USD to play yet another Forza (a racer), guys on PS4 while enjoying probably less powerful GT Sports (a racer) because it has ... less.... cars.. ehem.. and looks less real... ok but they played top exclusive games this year alone that you played on xbox one since its creation for cheaper.
9. (Leading Features) Although a very good feature that shows how corporate giants have faith in their products and respecting consumer’s choice BUT Backward Compatibility should be the icing on the cake.... NOT the cake itself. As painful as it sounds, was reading some fans comments they were wondering if PAC MAN is going to get a 4 K Patch for the X. Stop this delusional melodrama and contract new studios for brand new games for the Xbox One Brand only. Otherwise seriously what is the point ??
10. (An International Brand) Instead of Patching up games to 4K for the X, please patch up your position as MS/Xbox Division with the rest of the world outside the US as it is abysmal. Since the release of the Original X1 Europe was NOT considered strategic.... really ?? well they were picked up by Sony in a heartbeat, same goes for Asia, Africa.. down under etc. Show the world the Xbox Brand is for the entire world not only the US with games that suit different tastes, genres, variety and cultures (not mindless shooters or racing simulators) maybe they’ll believe you or at least try... if it s not too late.
Here in Europe main (NOT UK & I) we haven't got any yet on the shelvs, only people preordered received theirs and through source of stores not many preordered. Switch and PS4 are still selling strong. But then again, MS were never interested in Europe and I don't think Europe is that much interested in their products.
