In no particular order... 1. Metroid (NES) - So the password system was odd (and more often than not you'd take it down wrong), the game was big, the main boss was a brain, and after beating her you had to escape before the place blew up. An ultimate bad-ass game. 2. Ninja Gaiden Black (Xbox)- Although infinitely frustrating (especially for me on the Hard difficulty), the enemies were awesome, and the Vigoorian Flails immediately made you cool when you knew how to use them. 3. Tron: Deadly Discs (Intellivision) - Does anybody remember this system? Well, I do, and I remember it specifically for this game. Score 6,000,000 points and then the guys with the stun sticks came out that took 4 hits to defeat, lining up your shot to take out Recognizers, and that's mostly it. This game was a passion, not a past-time. 4. Grand Theft Auto III (PS2) - Sure, Vice City and San Andreas improved on a winning formula, but I can't forget the one that started it. This game took games in a new direction, and people were awed at what could be accomplished in video games nowadays (or in this case, back then). I don't know how to word it all, but you know this game was cool. 5. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox) - A game that did the Star Wars universe justice. And I got to wield a double-bladed yellow lightsaber to boot.
