@MinerAvatar @xdrmonkeyfishx I think mr. monkey fish was referring more to plot changes and fundamental gameplay elements, rather than adding content, or fixing bugs.
@Godhand___ Gonna have to agree with the flashlight thing. Never played Doom 3, could sound cool in a brainstorming process, but ultimately, just seems like a pain in the ---
@nyran125 @ivan_osorio But the thing is, it's not their job to change the publics's outlook, it's their job to review games fairly. Call of Duty is a great, fun, well-polished game, and so it is reviewed accordingly. Artistic games can receive the same high scores, and they have before, but if they aren't polished, they have flaws, or they simply aren't fun to play or look at, they will get a low score. Simple as that. Make the game good, and it'll get a good score. Indie developers have the full power to polish their game up before they release it.
@twztid13 I just got that! In all seriousness though, I like the idea of them trying something new, but I really don't think this will work out. The thing that makes the video-game storytelling media so different (read:great) from movies is that not only can you interact with your world, you have a much longer time to do so and connect with the characters. I enjoy movies, and they are a great medium, but I have yet to find a movie that has made me love it's main character as much as Crisis Core did after I spent 20 hours with Zack Fair. So the only way I can see them pulling this off is if they're going for minimal gameplay, great game style and artistic surroundings, and a story that doesn't try to win you over with only it's characters, but rather a clever story arc itself.
There's a reason they slapped an M rating on here people. It stands for Mature. And if you are not mature enough to handle homosexuality (that is not forced upon you no less) than you probably shouldn't be playing this game.
