This is interesting. I recently bought 2 8800GTS 512s, for about 500$ combined. I know with my current overclock, my setup is at least to the level of, if not above the base, standard clocked setup using 9800GTXs. And seeing how 2 9800GTXs are holding their own and even passing the new 280 in some of these benchmarks, it's only telling of how my set up should compare. And seeing how my graphical setup is 150$ cheaper, I'm not so devastated at not being top dog.

Dear Gamespot: In future reviews, and I mean this as kindly as I can, please use relevant competing video cards. You really should be comparing the 3870 x2 to things like the 8800 GT SLI, and G92 based GTS SLI. The GTX and Ultra and their SLI setups are sorta phased out, considering the near equal performance from G92 based cards that are pretty much placed in the market to replace the older GTX and Ultra. Also, please include other ATI cards besides the base single core model. The 3850 card would make sense here. Lastly, no power or sound measurements?!
