I have a LCD with one DVI port and one VGA port.  I use the DVI for my PC and the VGA for my 360.  Is there any way to switch between them on the fly?  So far all I can figure out is if I want to use one, the other needs to be unplugged.  This becomes a pain after a while.

If anyone can help that would be great, thanks.

Followup question: Can you force those old games into a windowed mode so that you don't have to look at stretched graphics?dchan01

Yap, normally you just put "-windowed" at the end of the game shortcut.

I have 2 suggestions - go somewhere like Walmart and buy a cheap DVD player that has component video outputs (Red, Grn, Blu) and hook that up to see if you get a picture. If you still don't then I would say the TV may be defective.

First though - if you were playing using your VGA cable you may have the 360 set to a resolution that can't be displayed through component video. You may want to hook back up using VGA and set to the resolution that is native for your TV (ie. 1280x720 - if it's a 720p).

Hopefully that helps.

I guess it's defective then. I just tried every resolution down on the VGA list and all of them still came up with a black screen. I'm not gonna bother going out and buying a DVD player with the right cables. I'll just exchange thsi one for the same one and bring it back. If it still has the same problem when i bring the new one back i know it's not the TV and I must be doing something wrong. Thanks for your help.

I just bought a new RCA HDTV last night and hooked it up. I plugged my 360 in to it through the cable given when you buy it (the 360) and made sure the plugs are in the correct slots. I also flipped the switch to HD instead of SD on the cord. When I change it to the correct channel all I get is sound and no video. The TV only has one set of HD plug slots (red, blue, and green) so I know I'm putting them in the right place. I have also changed it to each channel and still nothing. All the channels are a blue screen except the CMPT channel that gets a black screen with audio. Its not my 360 because SD and VGA work with the HDTV. I would normally dismiss this and just play using VGA, but the TV won't let me customize most of the visual options (sharpness, tint, etc) unless I use the CMPT. It's not the cords either because I brought them over my friends house and they work with his 360 on his HDTV in HD and SD modes. The only similair stories I have found on the internet are of people getting no video no matter what cord or settings they use. This is not the case with my problem though because the only thing I can't see is HD using the CMPT cable. This si the only place I can think of were someone would have an answer so does anyone know a solution???

Thanks
