A fairly spot on review. My first two hours of play, I have played more since, was met with wonderful nostalgia as well as the crushing realization that the game is just dated. Not surprising as this game is from 2004. It just goes to show you how far Rome 2 has come in. The fact that any part of this game doesn't feel dated, like growth, is impressive. Ultimately, most TW players enjoy battles the most and that is where Rome TW shows its age the most imo. I ripped off my nostalgia blinders at one point when I had to hand hold a unit of hastati on a flanking maneuver in a siege battle only to watch them to forget how to walk around a building and attack a phalanx unit in a social distancing manner.

Rome 1 is a classic and it is a good remaster for those wanting to relive the memories of the OG Rome TW.

I certainly would have put the lack of a playlist/tournament mode in your con's list. Many people play this game with people in the same room as them and being forced to only play one event before returning to the event menu is annoying. This is a party game after all.

Yup, correct. There is no Nazi Propaganda in MP, and I believe it is extremely minimal in the campaign as well. This is due to the fact that certain countries banned the Nazi swastika. I wish for the countries that didn't ban it in video game use that they would make a toggle switch so we can curb stomp some Nazi's.

I was excited to see COD go back to WWII, in fact I felt like it was a done deal for me as far as game purchases go. After doing some research, watching some videos I feel that Sledgehammer is just going to ruin WWII shooters before they even get their second wind. This game is early in its stages, but there are too many things that are not only wrong, but were not present in COD WWII shooters of old. This WWII shooter is trying to be PC, and the weapon customization's are horrible as well (looking at you suppressed SMG's, 7 round magazine 98's etc etc). Here is to hoping that Battlefield and other popular franchises not only make a WWII game, but put greater effort into it. I have longed for a new WWII shooter, but COD is not going to quench my thirst here.

At least when BF1 came out they made a wise choice for inaccuracy as WWI weapons and tactics wouldn't be good for mainstream gaming. WWII doesn't suffer from this.

@danyjr: That is how it is looking to me too. Sad that at first I thought they were going to listen to their fans and create a true WWII game.
