I bought a mac right after high school, and although it has performed 100% perfect for the last 3 years, I think I am going to try and build my own PC next time or even buy a laptop and put linux or osx on it.

kodyoo

Ive thought of doing that as well, but Ive dumped so much into console gaming, It has seemed silly. Im worried, though, that being able to play more games on my mac might just be the push I need to get into PC gaming more. I cant lie, the interface on Dragon Age makes me wish I had every Bioware game in a pc/mac format, its just so damn handy. Im playing Mass Effect on 360 right now, and the whole time Ive been thinking "I wish I had these abilities hotkeyed!!"

Who knows, this steam thing sells me more on pc gaming, I might be building one too...

I will definitely try that next time, cant believe it never crossed my mind. Oddly enough, the problem stopped when I put a random disc (Max Payne in fact) into the (empty) disc tray. Before that, I tried shutting the system off and rebooting maybe eight or ten times....Ive signed in and out four times since with no problem, and played my downloaded copy of mass effect for a couple hours. Crazy eh?

Nice addition for the Mac users. Hope you all enjoy Steam!

Didn't Valve say that they would get PC and Mac users to play on multiplayer with each other, like Left 4 Dead 2 and others?

The-Mosher

Im pretty sure they did, though Im not sure that will apply to the Beta. My guess is that they hammer out bugs among just the mac users, then somehow get us all in the same pool.

I only play a handful of games on the Mac currently (Starcraft, Dragon Age, Braid), but I for one am stoked to hear about Steam's upcoming support.

It may be old news, but for those who dont know, theres going to be a Valve/Steam Mac beta coming up soon. Heres the link to apply; do it and Ill see you in TF2!

Oddly enough, the freezing stopped just now, but only after I put a disc in the empty tray....now Im signed in, no problem. Weird.

As for the DLC thing, none of the games Ive purchased (and downloaded to my HD) show up until I sign in. Demos show up, but none of my purchased games. But youre saying they should be there? Maybe I just need to change a setting or something....

Hey yall, I just recently got a 360 having had a ps3 for two years. I got it to play Mass Effect and some of the cool downloadable titles, as well as the few other awesome exclusives it has.....

Im having a problem with my console freezing every time I log into my account this morning, and a question has come up:

Do you have to be logged into your account to access the games youve purchased/downloaded? I cant seem to access anything I bought without signing in. Everytime I do sign in, the thing freezes within seconds. so, I tried to play a game off of the HD, and theyve all vanished....the ps3 keeps your games on its hard drive to be played by anyone logged in, is there a way to do this on the 360? can I put the games on the HD to be played by anyone logged in, or can only my gamertag play them?

So, my 360 has been freezing this morning, and its pretty strange. No weird rings, and it works fine- until I sign in to my profile. I can play anything in the general library just fine, but as soon as I sign in, it freezes within 10 seconds. Reboot, same deal. It worked just fine until last night, then this starts this morning....any advice?

Ive been doing that for awhile now too, but Im just at the point where theres really nothing else I want. Im one of those that loves every genre of game, and I have a new (to me) game in every genre and genre mashup to dig into. Its gonna be a broke year for me, so Im stoked.....Im committed to playing through at least a dozen games before I add any more. Unless the last guardian comes out first. That will be a launch day purchase, no doubt. Then again, Im sure Ill be through one run of that game in a week....

Just today I shelled out $20 for a downloaded copy of Mass Effect...My disc copy has this one fine scratch in it, and 15 hours into my first playthrough it starts freezing at various points in the game....im in too deep to let it go while I wait for a new copy, so I just had to do it....
