You are a fool if you thought that the series will be totally follow the books and games. The series is based in books! Try give a series a review outside of the lines of the book and leaving out the game. Just the third game somewhat follows the books but still got a 10! If you can’t follow up the episodes timeline then it is your fault because the author made the script to create some “aww” moments when you understand for example that Ciri is in the future and Yenna in the far past when Foltest and Adda are presented as children in the banquet. Try to understand that not all the people have read or played the witcher. The new comers will appreciate the tale. Me for instance I liked the way it was presented since you can’t meet different characters without presenting their background stories. The series has a true feeling from the books and I just didn’t like the background story of Yenna but well that doesn’t matter so much. I played the games and read all the books and enjoyed very much the series. Has good potential just let it unfold in the next series.
Other than the cat eyes, a witcher was noted in the books from carrying the two swords in the back. It does not make sense to start Gerald’s journey without the silver sword or worst aiming to acquire it. Although I remembered that the first “monster” that Gerald killed was indeed a man. Maybe this one will be more of a origin story that I am thinking. Either way I am hoping that this will be a series without heavy flashbacks since those tends to exhaust the story-telling.
