@eLite0101: Well, these guys &gals work very hard to resolve the issues. And at 1.0.6 lots of bugs have been cleaned. I totally agree on that.
Also the story - at least for now- does not feel "epic". But the game is fun, detail is immersive, RPG elements are very well placed.
On my end I would give this game a solid 8.
When it comes to divinity. That is another topic like you said. Maybe if we are to compare this game with Pillars of Eternity which I tried soo hard to like the game... But I failed.
What? A "6" ? One of the best RPGs I have played in my 40 year old life and it is just "6"? It is not a Baldurs Gate or mask of the betrayer but just "6"??
Of course I watched the video. We should play our character on 3rdPS like GTA I think. But this one is also great. I LOVE the game as it is. I just want to mention, It will be great with a 3rdPS camera.
Well, if they put 3rdPS option in the game, where we can see the gear improvements on our character, I think it is going to be a blast.
I still remember the day when I first heard Fallout 3 will be a FPS experience... I was one of those haters back then..."Fallout must be isometric"!! " But then when I played the games, I changed my mind.
Never had prejudices... Fingers crossed and waiting for this.
When I first purchased the game and started the adventure, my first taught was "This is not God of War"... "Meeh..." "The combat is slow"... Etc.
I am 40 years old and I ve been playing video games for nearly 30 years now. There is very little to surprise me in the games now and very few game "wows" me... I have seen nearly every kind of story twits, every kind of gameplay mechanic etc.
The older games (except ascension) were masterpieces in their own terms and a genre defining games.
But this is not a game... THis is a Journey
This is the God of War.

THis is not a game that you can understand from a review or something that explainable, but a journey that you must live for yourself.
@urbanman2004: If we connect the first release trailer+the second trailer, Ellie says in the first one "I will kill every last one of them".
Not "We". So Either Joel is out of the picture, or in the second trailer as the Asian Guy states "your old man", Joel is now a community leader.
Or after her beloved's brutal death (I assume it is because these guys that we saw in the second trailer, they gut a person in cold blood, intestines hanging. So they most probablu brutally murdered her.
So Ellie has gone Nuts and she's seeing an "illusionary" Joel, which is probably dead.
We will see when the game is out.
But as I am a father of a 6 y.o. girl, The Last of Us tear me apart throguh its story. After each playing session I kept thinking "what if that guy was me". "What would I do if my kid is murdered in cold blood". That gave me shivers. I could not comprehend the pain he was in. And after years of loss finding another girl exactly the same age as your lost kid. And protecting her, trying to correct his mistakes by protecting her...
THis was what Last of Us for me... I hope the 2nd game will be this good.. But TBH I do not think it will be.
SO the beads on Ellie's girlfriends wrist is on ellie during the whole fight scene. So it means that the girl have been murdered by this "cult" and Ellie is taking revenge..
So where is Joel? Honestly all "father - daughter" chemistry kept me going through the first game.
