@nyran125tk Having played a game is good enough to impress the casual conversation at a bar (AKA more disposable income). Games get played between wife, kids, work.

The modern Gamer fills a shelf with what he/she wishes they could play.

The game is still purchased the internet savvy pirate there shit sorry gamespot, be careful not to go the way of the NAPSTER.

@snova9308 @blue_shift_91 @AngelsongCA The PS3 sucked ass in the markets and lost money for years before the hardcore (intelligent gamers) picked one up. If you want to know the way the wind is blowing compare Walmart plus Target plus Kroger to first day sales that is where units are moved not just gamestop. True "Casual gamers have more disposable income that Hardcore (live in mom's basement) types.

Core gamers buy from retail not gamestop. Lots of crap is sold that is not played hardware is the reason they sell and therefore what sells consoles.

Completely wrong my man; about all but one thing they might offer a Kinect free version for less money. Hardcore gamers are not the American dream gamers, while they may play more games that is not to say they will buy more. Your softcore gamers guy title and don't finish them they sit on a nice neat shelf and never get completed. The fact is sad that a huge part of the games industry dollars comes from this type (ya know the ones with the money). The hardcore gamer has the benefit of not working full time or having a family to buy games for. This combination does not result in game sales. Journalists should pay attention to those that buy games often but don't have the time to spend. The culture we live in is not about who finishes the most but who owns the most. I am not surprised that gamespot lives in a bubble where the opinion of "hardcore" drives the market. Gamespot only sells add space to the number of hits and if you are on here you aren't at work or playing games.

Oh shit don't forget that those with jobs buy shit and maybe don't spend all day on gamespot. The market you talk about is about those who want to own and maybe not finish.

It's just a shame so many fantastic games are exclusive to one platform or another I would have hated to miss Halo 4, or Metal Gear Solid 4, or Metro. It is lame to have to get all the platforms to be a well rounded gamer.

@Xx_Kares_xX @carbonFibreOpti @adub424 @horizonwriter Perhaps they should do what other companies do with their intellectual properties. Game companies should sell marketing time to be integrated into games say every 30 minutes or so when they are in syndication. That way like a rerun show or Star Wars playing on Spike TV they see a return for those utilizing their copyrighted goods. I personally would hate that model but hey if it saves you a few bucks you should be happy. Remember Game companies are not trying to impress gamers they are trying to impress people with money in their pockets.

@MikeFeeney431 @aberboy007 The all in one box might be a great way for kids to get their parents to buy on for them. We have all overcome the hurdle of mom and dad being purchasers of our toys. This scenario might just give Microsoft a bigger market share.

@horizonwriter Good point if part of the fee went to the developers I would be happy to pay. We all vote with our money it would be nice to know the right people are seeing rewards for their work.
