You expect the Gamespot community to have a thoughtful and respectful discussion about a topic like evolution? We can't even have a mature conversation here about "console wars," Too Human or casual gamers, but I guess I'll give it a try.
Evolution is a theory, a theory that is pretty sound according to our current knowledge of biological science but that doesn't mean that one day it can't be proven wrong by a new discovery. To say that evolution or any other theory is not up to discussion is to totally ignore what science is all about, to ask the though questions, to keep learning more, and to strive to understand the world around us.
The religious side of the argument is getting ridiculous as well. What I don't understand is why some religious people believe God and evolution aren't compatible. I guess it's beacuse some people believe everything in the bible is to be taken literally but even that makes no sense when it comes to theology (Christian Theology). God exists outside of time and space so 7 days or 5 billion years are pretty much the same length of time for him, it's no time at all. Nothing about evolution "proves" or even tries to prove that God doesn't exist. In fact, even Charles Darwin wasn't an atheist (he was agnostic). Personally, as a believer of theistic evolution, that God or a god could have triggered and guided evolution, I don't see what the fuss is about.
