It's shameful that it took them this long to address technical issues they should have had solved before releasing the game. It's a disturbing trend that developers are content to ship a broken game and only fix it later if people complain loud enough. Doesn't anyone play test the game before they drop it?
I hope this "escape" part of the "gameplay loop" doesn't require the kind of noisy exit shown in the recent trailer. As a long time Thief fan I used to pride myself by cleaning out a level completely without anyone even realizing I was there. I don't want to have to "escape".
Well that deserves a round of applause. Glad to see at least one developer focused on giving the players a well designed and executed story without wasting time on a MP feature nobody will remember in two months.
Well I'm out. Not only is it giving them faaaar to much control over what you have paid for, but I've yet to see an always online DRM system that didn't function horribly. I think I'd rather not beta test their greed machine.
That said I'm not putting too much faith in an unconfirmed rumor...if it's true though....
Well as someone who played every Thief game as they came out and has long been a....devoted fan of the series....I liked the trailer. I thought that they make his eyes too dark like he's wearing eye shadow, and for a master Thief getting caught stealing just that is pathetic, but I realize they have to make the game sell to people who never played the series and don't see that breach of stealth as absurd.
All told when he pulls down that lame ninja mask and shows his face....he looks just as he always should have, so even and old taffer like me was satisfied to see that.
Well if that's the move they want to go in and it's not like Hayter didn't have his turn. They just better make a good choice or this decision will haunt them. I can see the posts already, "He doesn't sound like Snake!".
Typically games are developed on PCs that...lets face it put consoles to shame. With those powerhouses they build the game, and then being the process of shoehorning it onto a console with childlike memory. If this game doesn't show the graphics now on what they are running it on (bet you it's a PC) then I highly doubt it will get any better before the game comes out on next gen consoles. If you want to see an AC game with graphics really using the new consoles...wait for a title that isn't launch when developers have nothing to start with....so maybe the next one.
That said gameplay is what matters, and I always enjoy playing AC games so I'm not complaining. I can look past average to slightly above graphics any day.
Yeah they sure pushed the limits of the next gen consoles didn't they. What a joke. I hope nobody fell for that when they said it would fully utilize the new abilities of next gen consoles and yet also be available for current gen.
That said I don't care and will gladly throw down cash for this one.
