Considering I have two 290X's I'm expecting a 120 FPS average maxed out at 2560x1440.

I'm think of getting a either 290x or 390x, but do you think two 290x's are worth it??

SLI and Crossfire to me is only worth it if you're prolonging the life of an existing card you already own. I buy a single flagship card, wait a generation and buy another one of these cards, then on the generation after that I get a new flagship card and then repeat. So essentially I will be replacing my 290X's when the 400 series comes about.

Also it depends on the resolution you're attempting to operate games at, 2560x1440 is a hell of a lot more demanding to run than 1920x1080, also my monitor is 144hz so I want to get the highest possible framerate I can to make use of my refresh rate. If you're running 1920x1080 a single 290X or 390X would be completely fine for years to come, I would get the 390X however since it's a refined model.

grab a 970 during black friday, you won't be disappointed.

Yeah, until a game try's to take advantage of 3.5Gb's of VRAM...

I do game at 1440 so that's another reason I'm leaning towards the 290x-390x.

That's my second choice. I'm hesitating because I hear DX12 won't do much to Nvidia cards like they'll do to AMD cards. I would prefer Nvidia if that wasn't the case or f the differences aren't significant.

Legit interested to see what games will be patched with DX12 on the Bone and seeing what the differences are.

No kidding! It's about time we at least see some comparisons.

I love the environment textures in this game. that's about it

Looks like this was just a survival mode. Hopefully we get to see more of the cool parts.

The Last of Us got an 8 here. So if games like that are what an 8 means, then bring on the 8's!

@jaz_0: but, but cows like @tormentos said DX12 doesn't do anything to improve performance on XB1...

And Xbox DX12 performance has yet to be seen. This is PC, which is expected to see performance bumps.

Exactly where does that article say "we are only talking about PC"?

Exactly where in the article does it show benchmarks for Xbox One? Or even mention it outside of reminding people there's a beta going on for it?

Async compute, manual resource Barrier tracking, and explicit memory management are new features of DX12 and not exclusive to the PC, correct? If that's the case, wouldn't you see an improvement on XB1?

So you're assuming then? There are no benchmarks for Xbox One and all talks about DX12 improvements and benchmarks in the article are for PC. Until you show me where any of it is said to translate to the Xbox One in any way, my comment still stands.
