@nayce54: I personally hated Dark Souls 2. It didn't have the magic of the rest of the Souls series. The world wasn't interesting. In PvE, Maces > all other weapons. And the worst thing about it, is that the Souls series is a series based on Challenging, but Fair gameplay. Dark Souls 2 wasn't Challenging, or Fair. It was a constant swarm of enemies in an attempt constantly kill you, so that they can keep the "hardest game ever" tag line.
@sethfrost: It's the "5 things you should know about Dark Souls 3" video all over again. They kind of lead people on to believe that they know what they are talking about, but it is clear to anyone who has played any of the previous games, that they do not know anything about the Souls / Bloodborne series.
Which is fine. New people to play the series is always good. However, being that this is coverage, by Professional Game Journalists, you would expect someone who knows about the series to give out information to the fan base about the newest game.
Not trying to be mean, I hope you guys are having fun playing the game.
@hotkoolaid: I hardly call my response to the video "long winded", being that it probably took just as much time as it did for you to reply to me.
Posting a video that is said to be "5 things you should know about Dark Souls 3", then having a majority of them being common sense things for anyone that has played the series, and then some that are either incorrect or used the wrong footage, you have to expect some backlash. You don't get to sweep it under the rug, and go "calm down, bro. What's the big deal? It's just a video.".
You are supposed to the professionals providing content that is reliable, correct, and possibly useful for your fanbase. One of which, would be myself, which is why I felt the need to call you out on a screw up. You can't just have good praise all the time. Sometimes you need some tough love to get you back on track. You made a mistake. Acknowledge it.
Look, I am not calling you a bad person, or anything. The good intentions were there, but no one is getting anything useful out of this video. Which is disappointing. PS. Most magic users use a Shield.
I can not believe I waited hours to get home from work, and watch this video. 5 things we should know about DS3, huh? Were all 5 of them that you have never played any of the previous Souls games? Because you sound like you guys are talking out of your asses.
You bring up that you can now dual wield your axe. I am going you guess that you actually meant that you can Two Hand your axe, being that you showed that in the video. Dual Wielding and Two Handed combat have both been in the entire series, by the way.
As many have brought it up now, Infusing weapons with raw damage or elemental damage has been in the entire series now.
You brought up that the combat is different than before, yet comparable to the previous titles, and yet you didn't give any details about it at all.
You wasted your time, and more importantly, everyone elses. I hope you guys infused a shield with +Fire Resistance, because you are about to get your asses burned.
@Harrydapro I am well aware of my gaming history. I am not saying that Tomb Raider is a wannabe of Uncharted, I am aware that it has been around for years.
