WE KNOW those things

I feel like this sort of thinking is what keeps the stale game train rolling.

And when you say "WE," are you being inclusive to members of this board, or to the kids you mention in the OP?

I even have doubts that Halo 5 will be any good. This year really doesn't seem to be much better than any other, except for the fact that MGSV has GOTY on lock.

I really would like both games to be good though, but some fresh IPs would REALLY be appreciated.

I was highly interested in both games...5 years ago. I have literally no interest for either anymore, though that may change since Nomura was let go from KH3's development. I'll wait and see how they play out before I get even a little excited. Hype train is at full stop at the moment.

Since I assume this considers each franchise as a whole, I chose Halo because it is just more consistently good. I even thought Halo 2 was insanely enjoyable, despite it being on the bottom of most people's lists. I did enjoy Killzone 2 more than any Halo game (Halo 2 + Killzone 2 = shitty tastes? Maybe...), but the first Killzone was medicore, and I absolutely hated Killzone 3. I never gave Shadowfall a chance, but from what I've seen, read, and heard, it's more like KZ3 than 2. That said, the times I had with Killzone 2 were among my favorite in recent gaming memory :)

For some reason, Gamespot won't let me upload anymore due to "bad request," so I guess I'll stop here :P

If the game is more of a 2.5-D RTS (real-time strategy) where you play as either men or devils, you could be thinking of the original Kingdom Under Fire for pc.

However, if it really is a platformer, then I'm not too sure what it could be lol.

If your receiver has an "HDMI control," "pass through HDMI," or "Standby through" option, which allows the signal to be repeated through the HDMI cable even when the power is off, try enabling it. You will still hear the windows sound of a device being enabled/disabled when you turn off the display hooked up to the receiver, and the video and audio will still cut out for a moment, but the result should be that your desktops will not automatically rearrange.

It has to be a tie between Final Fantasy and Legend of Zelda. They have game after game of absolutely amazing soundtracks.

I concur. I loved the music in FF 1, 4, 6, and 9, and the LoZ games have all had fantastic soundtracks as well.

Not on Ubisoft's watch!

EDIT: Wait, nevermind; you're talking about games with multiplayer components and/or lots of extra content...

I'm sorry, but this is basic, people.

Anyway, I sort of agree with your position, but when I get fed up with how companies do their business, I simply stop giving my money to them, and I instead give it to someone else who does business the way I like. I hate being nickled and dimed just as much as the next guy, but sometimes you have have to stop yourself and say, "Why am I doing this?" No one is forcing your hand to spend that money. :-P
