I recently bought a PS3... like 3 weeks ago. Got a few ?'s.
Every game I stick in the drive says there's a new version that needs to be downloaded first. Is this normal? I've been an Xbox Live member for 8 years so I joined PS+ rite from the beginning. Every game/demo I download from PSN has to download (obviously, then it has to be installed for another 10 mins. or so depending how big the file is. With XBL when I download something it's ready to be played rite then. Does everything have to be installed? Is there a place to see how much hard drive space is free/used? Last thing... Is there an option to stream anything, like PSN related videos or game previews, instead of just straight-up downloading them? When XBL was new, everything you wanted to see had to be downloaded. Now most is streamed, which is much quicker. I'm not trying to say one is better than the other but coming from the 360 for so long, and how consoles have been over the years... it seems like the PS3 drags things out (if I got it set correctly anyways).
One thing I will say about the online infrastructure between XBL and PSN... XBL's setup, look, and ease of use and finding things is waaay better. That being said... I like how being a PS+ member gives you big discounts, free games every month, and a whole bunch of extra incentive that XBL doesn't offer. Thanx for any help you guys can give :)
