I just got into the series! My best friend has been telling me about it for years. Then I saw on Wikipedia the games are strongly inspired by Star Trek, so I got Till the End of Time and The Last Hope International. Haven't played yet.

I don't understand why SE couldn't release the JP Ultimate Box in the US, in addition to this slim version. It costs twice as much, but it feels more like a CE for true fans with its statue.

Man, I miss the days when high quality CE with statues only cost like 120-150. Wait... The Witcher 3, Deus Ex Human Revolution... Ok, good, they are still around.

@c0mmanderKeen: I recently watched the trailers for Independence Day 2, Suicide Squad, BvS, and Deadpool not too long ago. They all feel more cohesive. Some scenes are a little longer, some a little shorter, but each is purposeful. The trailers, only a few minutes each, have a theme, which is usually consistent with the movie.

I don't expect EA or any other game publisher to put in the money to make a game trailer like movie studios do. On the other hand, the BF1 trailer made me think... There were times in school when I wasn't sure how to answer a writing question on an exam, so I put down everything I knew was right and was related to that question. That's how I see the BF1 trailer.

I get that BF is not known for its narrative, and there isn't the SW universe to back up BF. Even so, compare to the direction of BF2 trailers, it's like the BF1 trailer wasn't even directed. Some guy just pulled a bunch of footage from the game put fade-transitions between them.

I don't get the BF1 trailer. Are they made up of actual gameplay footage, pre-rendered cutscenes, or what? With scenes constantly fading to black to be replaced by another scene that fades to black a couple seconds later, I couldn't get get a clear enough impression of the game to like or dislike it. I think the direction of the trailer is horrible though. Is this deluge of imagery a new popular technique coming out of arts school?

So, is Mr. Moore just floating this idea or is he placing his stake for the future? I know EA tries to monetize almost every game it has made in recent years with a multiplayer component. When it doesn't work well, it'll sell a single player game as a semi-subscription online game. Despite all that, DA: Inquisition offline was still very good!

I wouldn't mind if EA went pure streaming. It makes sense for the games it publishes now. Battlefield? Of course. Sports? If it's competitive. I will miss not owning copies of BioWare games, but it is more interesting to see how EA's great streaming experiment will pan out. I'll put those games lower on my backlog. If I ever get to them, I'll stream!

[EDIT:] Wait, if EA had to stream competitive multiplayer games, is latency going to be a problem? Or will it have to install a lot of assets onto the user's end system first? Some people have very fast Internet, right? Is it a problem for EA to offer a pure streaming option for people who have a crappy PC but blinding fast Internet for Battlefield 1?

Hey, "Whiskey Hotel" was a fitting finale for the epic battle in Washington D.C. And Have you guys seen that fan made trailer for Mass Effect 3 using Mass Effect 2 footage? Yeah! Wait, what was I talking about?

Oh, yes, Infinite Warfare. That scene where those ships fly into space is nice. It hints at a hidden greatness.

I hope I find that in the game. I quite enjoyed the Modern Warfare games. There was a good balance of mission types for linear FPS. The story was epic if cliched. The games weren't too long or too short. Last, but not least, Price.

That's what Infinite Warfare needs: Price. Not another grizzled SAS operative with an enchanting accent that is simultaneously dapper and gruff, but somebody. Maybe that woman who shows up at the beginning and end of the trailer. Same woman? I couldn't tell. You know what, maybe that human-shaped robot who throws me into the ship midway through the trailer! That would made a kick ass war buddy story.

It's a crappy trailer, but the game could be golden.

@Ghosthunter54: I felt that disconnect too, but it helped me play as Geralt instead of myself, like I would in a more opened ended game like Skyrim. The gameplay is part discovering who Geralt is and part making choices based on who I am. I am hopeful Cyberpunk 2077 will have a player character that is less predefined, but I also don't want to be an outsider that mostly watches already established relationships play out between NPCs. It's a challenge.

@Kickable: You are right. It's far out enough that I may be worried over nothing. I just get the sense that CDPR really wants to make the game great. I just want it to make sure it does so without borrowing from future returns that may not materialize.

I am worried about CDPR. I love The Witcher and highly anticipate Cyberpunk 2077, but I don't think this kind of game will ever be able to compete with the likes of Call of Duty and GTA now that it has a popular online feature. It just does not have as broad an appeal, especially in the US. I hope CDPR really paces itself and balances its cost and realistic expectations of profit.

There is a point after which successive improvement to Cyberpunk 2077 will not translate into proportional market share. I would rather CDPR stay clean of the capitalist-motivated business model, keep a balanced budget, and keep turning out these great games. I don't want it to take a big risk with over investment in a game, incur a substantial loss, sell control of the company to a much larger publisher traded on US stock exchanges, then essentially implode.

It doesn't affect how I play, but I am very happy that the experiment tying a single player RPG to social media has ended. Failed is such a harsh word.
