Well, I haven't played the following in a long, long time. I'm excited to install them and play them once again. I've actually never beaten either. I know that the graphics are absolutely horrendous by present standards, but hopefully I'll be able to overlook that. If anyone knows of any other awesome games like the following, I'm open to all suggestions.
Gothic
Gothic II
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
I'd have to say that GOTHIC is probably one of the most overlooked and underrated games of all time. The main flaws with the series lies in that they're buggy and clunky - but if the player can try to ignore them - Gothic ends up being an absolutely exceptional experience. I've been playing Gothic 3 for a little while, and although the game is really fun, it seems too different. That's probably because I never actually played Gothic 2. So I'm going to go ahead and beat the original Gothic (never have before), then beat Gothic 2 and then continue playing Gothic 3.
I've gotten to level 35 in MORROWIND without ever talking to that main quest dude in Balmora (I'm surprised I remember the name of that town). Actually, I don't think I did any quests at all. All I did was run around the gameworld, picking flowers, stealing stuff and killing people. I figure I may as well try to experience the whole game. I've been playing OBLIVION for a while, and although I didn't experience that much in Morrowind, I could tell that it was by far a superior game (excluding the graphics). Playing Oblivion made me want to play Morrowind once again.
It's amazing that these three old games have the capabilities of taking so much time to complete. Looks like I won't have to worry about being bored for a long while.
